Hi all,

I have some shuddering when I take off in 1st gear.
Also my gear changes have to be spot-on or they feel rough.

It is nothing serious, just annoying.
Sometimes it is a single muffled clunk, othertimes it is a proper shudder.

Could it be an engine mount or an engine mount & clutch/flywheel?
The clutch friction point feels quite high, perhaps this means that it is worn and is close to needing replacement anyway?

Before I replace the clutch and get the flywheel machined how can I check the engine mounts?
They don't appear to have any leaks (if they are fluid filled) and the rubber is OK? it is hard for me to tell

Your help is much appreciated
Regards,
Nick

clutch might be on last legs , and the flywheel needs a resurface ( its rough , and will shuuder thru the transmission when worn or burred etc).

Im sure a new clutch and machined flywheel will fix ur problem
