:thumbsup:

On a 7 inch wide wheel usually a 205 to avoid rubbing.

both 205/215 will fit, but try to get a lower profile like 35 (which is extreme for 17's) but u get alot less rubbing than 40s.

yes but its the minimum width for a 7inch wide rim - not reccommended IMO.
Get a 205 for optimum choice :)

I agree. I wouldnt put a 195 on a 7" wide rim. Just a little to extreme.

using 205 on 7", and if i put a set of super low King's on EK with stock shocks
will that be too soft for the corners or rubbing at all?

P.S. used super low King's with stock shocks on my old Celica...and it craps=_=

call a tyre shop they have a book they can look up to see the widest u can put on your car.....tell em wat ya want and they'll be able to tell ya if its legal ;)

The way they calculate the legality is they take the std rim size and then add 2" to that to create the max size.

The only problem with this is that not all models come out with the same sized rim.

EG.
EK1 = 14"
EK4 = 14"
EK9 = 15"

So technically you can put a 17" rim on your EK4 as they are basically the same car.

Unfortunitly they dont see it this way.

Some police see it that you have a 14" rim originally so all you car can handle is 16" rims.

Others will look at the Tyre size tag on your chasis that recomends tyre size and stock rim size.

If you want to put 17" on your car and then get defected there is a way around it. Keep your stock rims :)
Swap them back get un defected then put the 17's back on. :cool:

Mind you unless you are standing out and driving 2 fast and furious style most cops wont look at you anyhow.

This all depends on what state you are in!!!

Let me know if you need more detail here as in Victoria the above is not the case.

I was told that by a victorian cop.

But guess he was wrong.

As with all laws there is the actual and the what you get done for at the time.

Just to Clarify some info

As sourced from Vic Roads:

So i thought fair enough and checked the VSI8 like mentioned in the roadworthy information.

That gave me this

Think that covers all the information that is needed.

Thanks to Vic Roads (http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au) for the information provided.

Amazing what a 5 min google search can find.
