Im sick to deather of spending 20minutes going through the first page of tge trading forum. Consilidating all user threads to a single thread sucks. A title isnt enough to describe 4+ items.

My proposel is to disable bumping in the forum. Once a thread is made it never gets bumped again, no matter how many replys its had. This means threads can be easily ranked on date and people get a true indication of what is avaible on the forum within a few minutes of browsing.

Seems fine to me... it's not the system that has problems, it's the way ppl use it.

Making ppl use one thread to sell 1 or many items is logical. If they have 4 items, then 4 threads is just a waste of space. And i reckon a title is enough to describe things... most ppl sell parts from their OWN car (as u have to, can't sell for other ppl) so model specific should be perfect (eg EK/DC interior/exterior parts) to sell a bunch of items. You can group anything.

This leads on to the major problem, that members have a HUGE problem labeling their thread titles... seriously "Parts for sale" or even WORSE just "For sale" as a thread title is just pathetic. If everyone actually was specific with the title, then we wont have a problem.

Bumping like in any other forum is just the way things work. It's up to the thread starter to keep things updated, so the first post is most important, and the last post is a good place to inform ppl of changes. Also alot of things sell in 1 day, others in 3 months. So no bumps will not be fair in the end.

u can disable bumping in the forum software.
Its stupid because of this reason. U sell one thing then a few weeks later u sell another. those threads will be merged if even 1 item of the other thread hasnt sold yet. for example

thread a) b18c parts
thread b) d-series parts
thread c) sound gear

How do any of these parts relate. I know there is still a place for 'garage' sales where alot of items are sold, but using only a few items are sold at once. This means u can easily use a title to describe the item.

My quarm is consolidated threads. the whole forsale forum is consolidated these days. who cares if u have to go through 2-5 pages of new forsale items. that is 5 clicks of a button. 5 clicks cant even get get you through half the first page these days!

The buy product of this is the sale section because fuller, for longer. People cant efficently sell, buyers cant decypher what ware's are being offered due to the fact.

Well quite a few users edit out their first post when their things have been sold anyways.

But yea I agree that its stupid the way how you can only have 1 thread even when you are selling multiple unrelated items. Cuz obviously your thread title HAS to be something general like "Parts for sale". When browsing it quicker to just look at the title rather than have to browse through every single one of these types of post just to see if the seller has what you want. I know theres a reason why you guys implemented this rule but I think you should be a bit more flexible. Making people have 1 single thread for related items is fair enough, but when they have unrelated items they should be able to have multiple threads each with its own unique title.

The reason we ask users to combine their threads is because in the past we have issues where users will create a new thread PER item. This basically ends up being unfair to other users as their threads get pushed off the first (and subsequent) pages.

Hence the reason for combining multiple items put up for sale within a short period of time.

While we're on the topic of trader forums, I have noticed that some traders can have their own sub forum whilst others don't. wouldnt it be easier for viewing if EACH trader had their own subforum? Unless, the trader chooses a subscription 'package'?

Well if we give all the traders their own sub-forum........the forum index would be pretty damn big :)

Trader sub-forums are provided on a first in-first dressed/seniority basis.
