recently ive purchased some dc2r rotors and calipers ad was planning to redrill the rotor and shave the caliper to fit them on my ek4

i was advised by people not to redrill rotor as it can crack
so the problem now is to find a larger 4 stud rotor to use with the dc2r caliper
i have seen the spoon ek4 brake conversion kit before
which includes a 15" rotor to be used in conjunction with the spoon calipers

could i purchase this and use it with then stock dc2r caliper?
also, is the redrilling of rotors really that risky?
coz i know people have done it before
is there anyway to do it without sacrificing the integrity of the rotor

cheers guys

Try contacting DBA Rotors and see if you can get DC2R blanks that haven't been drilled 5 stud yet. You might even be able to get a set of slotted ones.

I really wouldn't like to redrill rotors especially since you do track work

As others have said - dont redrill the rotors. They do have a tendency to crack.

maybe it's not a matter of clearance from the rims, if the knuckles aren't right you have to machine the back of the caliper. having that problem in my EF, with ITR calipers..

but gelo you should be able to find blank 282mm rotors and get them drilled.

btw i have 282mm Brembo rotors and they have 4x114.3 & 4x100. they came from Japan like that, do they really crack?

i don't mean to hijack the thread but while we're on the topic
i'm just curious as to what parts would be needed for such a conversion?
and if i were to upgrade the fronts, would the rears need to be changed also to balance out the braking power?

idealy u need front and rear knucles and rear control arms.
