coilover inspection

hey guys im looking at some 2nd hand coilovers tomorow for the civic, ( koni)
just wondering if there is anything specific i should be looking out for other than the obvious oil leaks

surface rust...dents...and push the piston down with ur hands and watch how the piston comes back up - any noise or erratic rebound points towards worn internals

see how fast the shocks actually come back up.. if its dead slow.. then theyre on its way out.

if its still fast then theyre considered pretty new still...

it also depends on how low the springs that were used.

Shocks shouldnt be fast at all, they should be smooth and slow...well...not SLOW, but not like, spring back. They are ment to dampen.

As above, if you compress them and they dont rebound or do it REALLY slowly/erratically etc, they are gone.
