splits

hi guys
last week a mate of mine got me a set of splits but they dont have the tweeters and the crossover box. can i use the speaker with out the tweeter and crossover box. would it still work good?

It will work but the midbass driver generally cannot reproduce a high frequency sound therefore it will sound muffled if you play a full range signal thru them.

Buy some tweeters and crossover mate. Its worth it.

yeah u can run it with out the crossover & tweeters, but ideally u'd prefer to have them to give u that high frequency, but then depends what kinda setup you have, if its a standard stocked like a rock system it wouldnt really differ much

ahah thats funny, he got u a pair of splits but theres only the midrange woofers. Not really considered splits anymore. you'll still need the driver for high freq. sounds tho.

well gonna be installing it in and seeing wat comes out of it.
i heard that u cant just buy the tweeters and cross over box. anyone know where to get it?

pioneer. mate said he brought it from cash convertors, for my birthday :). well just installed it and it sound better then the crappy paper speakers of mine.

guess u were running the stock system? if so you wouldnt really need the cross over & tweeters.

yeh those stock speakers were ripped as well so glad i got these will look into getting tweeters and crossover in the near future.
