usually american brands mroe for drag i think

and jun has diff spec cams n stuff

usually the higher end cam is more for racing on track whereas the lower end stuff is more street stuff.

It all depends on what kinda setting and how you build your car. Either Street or Drag.
JUN is good...if you got the money, buy the whole kit..but who to install..hmm...??

From what I have found out when I was looking at cams, Jun and Skunk2 are more for top end, where as Toda gives better mid range.

I heard that JUN is one of the best, there was a yellow DC2R in Perth with lots of JUN stuff (cams, internals ect) on street tyres car was running 13.7s 1/4mile, all work on car was done by speedworks in perth.

its cause JDM ricers look at brand before function. Lol no such thing as a 'drag only' part NA parts. Track you spend 90% of the time in vtec and above 6000rpm. Maybe you are mistaking creating a pwoerful NA car, to making a JDM NA car? Look at the cam priofiles and compare across brands and prices. U will be surpised.

So many companys do b-series gear, its not funny. Rocket motorsports makes some mean cams. Hit up Jimmeh for some prices.

Oh BTW, in the best motoring video, the Spoon 'boss' guy recommend putting a 1.8L stroker kit into ur 1.6l capacity engines (16a & b) as the best bang for 'track' buck.

that DC2R actually did a 13.1.
was by no means a drag car though. set up mainly for track. afaik it had a 2L stoker kit.
was several years ago. its been through a few owners since. mainly OS students at UWA lol. the person who undertook the build has long since left oz though.
its still not really a base for comparison though as theres too many varying factors to make a JUN vs other brand comparison.

Tracked your car yet Weq? :p

But I would say you spend more time in VTEC on the drag strip than at the track. On a drag strip you only spend time out of VTEC just as you launch. The rest is all top end. Good mid-upper end torque is a good thing for the track and it isn't all about having a good top end for the track.

13.1, that's very good, I saw it once when it did 13.7 and I was impressed, it was selling for $25000, I just missed it by few weeks, it was sold before I got my money:(

ur not driving the car properly then. u need lower gear ratios if u are falling out of tec at the track. Ive been watching best motoring for the past few days, and the b16b never saw below 5.5k. same with the type-r and the nsx and s2k. Low speed corners u gotta push her into 1st gear and get that torqueless monster roaring.

yeah, it changed hands from the original owner back in 2002. was making about 145wkw from memory. i'm guessing JUN was favoured for the build as speedworks are the official dealers. this was back when they were one of the few import performance workshops in perth
