well ive finally come to the idea of advancing timing etc with a adjustable cam gear

ive been told that with a SOHC it will only move the power band and not really make any power. when i do come to adjust teh cam i wanted to do it correctly with a dial guage and all but the thing is do you run the dial guage off the normal intake lobe ? or the vtec lobe ?

also if any other people have a sohc vtec engine what specs do u guys run on adj cam gear ?

it wont matter. adjusting on the lower lobe will advance/retard the same on the vtec lobe and vice versa.
just set the cam gear on 0 and redail the cam in as if it were stock. remember you can only put the cam gear onto the cam one way. then you set the timing based on the marking on the cam gear. therefore you shouldnt have to look at the lobe position, just the cam gear position
i hope that makes sense:p

No use. u will need an aftermarket cam before any of this is useful!
