Just had my 60k service done and even though it says in the logbook that the auto transmission fluid is changed at 80k, I had it changed today as per my request.

And it was definitely worth it. The drive out of the transmission is slightly smoother. I reckon 80k for its first auto transmission fluid flush is too long. Surely after the car is new, metal fragments and grit from manufacturing the tranmission gets the fluid dirtier (couldn't think of a word).

A point for anyone else. Oh yeah, and I've been using the Gastrol FULLY synthetic 5w-30w motor oil. The next owners of my car will have trouble free motoring for many years to come. I highly recommend the oil as it works out to the same as the Honda branded SEMI-synthetic oil; about $45.

My tips....

CVT got jerky after about 22,000km. I'm changing mine ever 20,000km from now on.

What type of Motoroil are youse using?

As stated in my first post, Im using a Gastrol FULLY synthetic 5W-30 oil. Sells for about $45.

actually .. vividjazz.. I am thinking of the same.. I was told that the Honda FEO is good enough for everyday driving and occasionally revving.. (probably not as good when you go to track..) but.. If I don't track and going to change the oil every 5000kays.. FEO would be good enough I reckon?

i tried Castrol's full synthetic 0W-30 during my last service recently (previously semi-synthetic from dealer), could feel the engine running smoother. but most noticeble was the improved fuel economy

Ow-30.....dayyemm

Engine must have been really revvy when cold. Wonder how much protection that provides whilst the oil is cold.

i believe the 0w-30 full-synt should be just as good (if not better) than thicker semi-sythetics even when cold as it has met all the manufacturers standards
