ok so as some of u know, my da9 was stolen a couple months back
yday i recieved a call from my insurance company informing me that they were giving me 6k for the car, and 900 for my system.
so now of course i gotta start lookin for a car, ive got the 6900 from insurance, plus a few hundred i managed 2 save up over the last couple weeks of workin, without having a car 2 spend money on. LoL
so im looking at dc4s, as dc2 vtirs r a bit out of budget atm (ill b saving for a a month or 2 before buyin a car... so a realistic budget of about 8-10k)

my question is... i know that the dc2r has a more rigid chasi etc... as compared 2 the vtir, however, wats the difference in chasi rigidity between the dc4 gsi and the vtir?
also wat other differences would i b looking at appart from the obvious B18B and B18C engines?
cheers

dc4 is identical to the dc2 in every way except for the engine.

chassis, brakes, suspension, seats, console, steering rack, exhaust, spark plugs.....

....everything

you could do what i did-do a gsi vtec hybrid build up!! its a perfect hobbie (if you know what u are doing) and if you like to throw money at your ride.

Just pull out the non vtec b18b and slap in a b18c vtec and ecu. great fun if you like getting your hands dirty

LoL thats the reason i was considering the dc4... b18c or k20 if i really wanna spend up ;)

do it man, it is well worth it :) i did the whole poor mans type r...i have ctr pistons, normal rods, crank and all of that stuff, i have a b16a head (similar to the b18cr head) on a b18c-vtir bottom end, an obd2 type r ecu, type r intake manifold and t.b.....It runs a compression ratio of about 11.5:1 or 240psi per cylinder (aposed to 220psi from a type r)

I raced a 1800cc turb silvia running 12psi, 3" zauhst bov and boost controler and it was dead even untill 180kph where we stopped racing.

thats a good comparison i think of what power to expect! lol

The main problem is the long range gear box, 4th gear will do 215kph at 8700 rpm

lol

yeah theres a bit of a diff between the type r gear box and a standard teg gearbox. but if im gonna do a conversion, it would most likely b a whole jdm spec front cut conversion with the tranny aswell. i luv the look of the jdm specs, absolutly sexy!

(aposed to 220psi from a type r)

r u talkin about the oz spec type r's??? bcoz the jdm b18cR is 260psi per cylinder.. well thats wat my friends showed up wen we tested it before buying it

nah man, they are around 220 psi-auzzy spec and i am sure there is no way a jdm one would be 260psi!! unless he put oil into bores to seal the rings more?
