Ok, i did a quick search and couldn't find what i was after (though i'm sure it has been covered before)

Just bought a '96 EK and was wondering what size / make of speakers fit up front easily with only minor modifications.

6 inch front, possibly 6x9 rear. if im wrong im sure someone will come by to correct me...

i think icacha is right but i'll be measuring mine tmrw. just got my EK coupe this week and will be upgrading my speakers too. so i'll post up wat i find out tmrw ;)

6.5" in max front with minor mod to the speaker hole.

Sweet... i have a pair of 6.5" boston pro's out of my old car that i wasn't sure would fit behind the stock grille.

I guess there is only one way to find out hey ?

the magnet of the BA pro's would def not fit it .. it would hit your window

DD2, its easy to get dis-heartened by with what people say, why not break a sweat and pull the door trim off and try it? only way to find out isnt it? :D

I did pull the grille off and try a spare set of pioneer coaxials i had and they didn't fit, but probably will with a spacer.

The boston's are much larger, so i think they may not fit behind the stock grille. Looking for an easy way out till i take it to the pro's to get done properly. Will just be patient for now :)

DD2, anything is possible if you put your mind to it :)

I once put Focal Utopia 6.5 inch in a WRX, tight fit and yes I made them fit and clear everything with a little patience and i didnt cut a single bit of metal :)

If you think they cant fit, why not ask a store what they think? :thumbsup:
