Hi Everyone,

Just recently bought a Jazz VTI CVT Vibe, and loved it.

I am planning to transfer my trusty Sony HCB300 bluetooth handsfree from my old car, but after reading a few threads in this forum it seems that the lovely factory headunit does not have the basic mute wire for handsfree.

It will be way too much effort to do the mods just for muting. So, I will just install without the muting setup.

Anyway, I am wondering if anyone has installed handsfree without the need to take out the headunit?

If so, any pointers will be greatly appreciated. Obviously I don't want to void any warranty!

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards
Ed

cos bluetooth headsets get to be quite a hassle, you have to charge them, make sure they're switched on & re-paired to your phone properly, put them on your head, have enough charge, and touch your head when a call comes in. plus some people worry about looking like a dick

who want's to do that each time you get into the car for a 2 minute drive.

with a car kit or car speaker, its just straight in and out, all the buttons are on the dash etc, all nice and easy.

Yeah, I had headset before and the problem is battery charge and its ability to switch between user.

The HCB300 can pair with 4 different phone and the easier thing is I don't have to worry about charging it and carrying it around with me.

Can you please tell me where you hookup the ignition wire and draw your 12v power from?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

ive got the mute setup on mine with a nokia kit in an 03' vtis. . .

the mute point is on that smaller spare female plug on the back left (looking from the rear) of the headunit. This is from memory as its been a while.

I had my parrot bluetooth carkit installed in my VTiS Jazz. The wires go straight to the fuse box. I had no idea how to get the HU out so I didnt bother going down that path.
