buddy where are you getting your information from??? $3k for labour??? and $2k for other shit????

ive searched my b series engines and never found a half cut under $2500 (b16a)
avarage price for a b16a laying around is $2500-$3000,and labour cant be more then $2000...$3000??? thats just crazy i got my b18c conversion half cut with an angineers for $7000 including labour drive away.

$6500 sounds abit too much for a b16a conversion buddy

ey C I V I C, ur in queensland rite? well that may explain y thats the best price u can get, id imagin engine transplants wouldnt b as common over there as say nsw or vic

bein in queensland may b the reason ur gettin a slightly inflated price, even though i think its an ordinary price, but anyway...

have u ever thought of comin down to nsw or vic? there may be a place around here that does it for cheaper, though i am yet to find it

yeh could pay upto 3k for a front cut but 3k for labour and 2 k for other crap thats too much. my mate just put a 3sgte motor into his celica he got a automotive place to put the engine in cos he did not have the time to do it and they charged him 3k in parts ripped him big time so he went and ripped the guy cos he tryed to over charge on parts and in the end the car could not even be driven out of there cos it was not finished properly. if possable get someone trusted to do your swap. personaly i will do all my swaps by myself with mates it may take time but at least i know that i get the job that you put in.

Without labour IMO this is around how much things would cost:

$3k - engine
$800 - engineers cert
$1k - various parts (fluids, belts etc etc)

brake and sussy should also be upgraded which could vary in price depending what you plan to do with it.. for both completely upgraded it might cost something like:
$1-2k

So i think the deal could be good or bad depending on what you get..

If its drive in drive out at that price and you get an engineers cert with it, then i think it might not be the worst deal in the world..

Some people will say they have seen deals where its like $3.5/4k drive in, drive out.. im yet to hear of any place to do that though..

ive just purchased a b18 sirg/vitr/gsr cut with rear brakes and suspension cost 4100 shipped with customs doc plus customs charges, i will be putting it in myself with a few freinds, so whatever i have saved will go into parts like full s/s exhaust, clutch, flywheel, fluids, belts alumin rad etc... you need at least 6g to do it PROPERLY your self. Expect to pay big bucks for labour, plus your fluid and extra charges etc...

as for mounts, use the stock ones unless they stuffed...

Just for comparison sake, does anybody know roughly how much to do a K20A conversion for EG Civic in Melbourne? I was told Motorware in Melbourne does quite a few jobs on Honda transplant, but not too sure 'bout K-EG merging...
