hey guys, my exhaust is too bloody loud and i want to take it off. has anyone attempted it and put their stock one back on? I have an integra 98gsi. Is it bolted on or welded, I'm not quite sure. i would check but im not at home atm.
If its not a home job, anyone know how much it would cost to get it refitted?

you could do it yourself at home if its bolt on. if its welded, like 50 bucks. Why not get a twin loop instead but

if u hav aftermarket cat back piping.. (i had 2.25 to a cannon muffler.. n i just changed the tip back to stock) it still has a tone to it!! alot louder than u'd think

is that right guys? even if i change the muffler to stock, with the piping not being original, but aftermarket it will still have the loud noise effect??

well, it depends on how much piping you have done.
If it's from the headers / catback and you've made the piping larger and less restricted, of course its going to make it louder.
But inyour previous posts you said that you just had a cannon muffler. So thats why this wasn't previously mentioned.

yes should of mentioned that my piping has also been changed. From the cat back. the piping diameter is 2.25. How much to put the original piping and muffler back on?

well, depends on if you kept the original piping.
If you don't, you're probably better off getting a full exhaust system from a wrecker and bolting it on
Why dont you try and get a silencer for it?

yeah i got the original piping.
if i get a silencer, does that full reduce the noise with no vibration within the car, smooth and quiet ride?

well, I have a cannon on my DC2, and the silencer means that I can have a nice quiet conversation, plus it's not too noisy on wide open throttle. it just gives you a bit of versatility in what you want. I dont mind having the lound note most of the time, but when the girlfriend wants to go out and stuff, or i have people in the car, they kinda complain a bit. Maybe try a silencer. I mean, you don't want to go back to stock man... I think its good that you have a nice exhaust on the car, but yeah of course sometimes it will get too loud. maybe if you put a silencer in, it will reduce the loudness by maybe 10-20 decibels.

hmm yeah i probably might, could i just get the silencer from any muffler workshop?
yeah i mean i like the cannon and all, but its just too much for me atm.

well, figure out what kind of cannon you have, and try and find a universal silencer. The cannon I have, I got a silencer with it.

yeah i guess so.
SO ANYONE HERE KNOW WHERE A GOOD MUFFLER WORKSHOP IS?!?!?!
Loud exhaust? Easy solution.... crank the volume up on the stereo so it over rides the exhaust sound... problem solved lol ok maybe not but that's what I do when my exhaust gets to my head but then again it's a short term solution depending on how much your ears can take.
to swap is easy DIY man
you can also get a resonator or hot dog welded in your 2.25inch piping to quieten it down. the only thing is that it is more restrictive.

i think the cleanest and best bet for me is to just cut off my cannon and put back on the stock muffler. I know it will be louder than normal, but as far as i know, and what people had said it will be louder, but no where near loud as a cannon or anything irittating. Just a bit louder then stock. Any comments on that?

I think you should go with a twin loop. stock exhaust is way boring.
