wells about 5 mths ago i went thru rwc and then the mechnic told me my driveshaft were wearing out or soemthing..

then about a month ago i thought i heard this clicking sound coming from my front wheels, and it went away as i was slowing down,

then recently when going for the ghost hunt trip .. i realised the sound was getting louder and my mates told me my car sounded like it was gonna blow up oO..

the mechnic guy told me 130 for both sides .. soo just wandering if i had new drive shafts @ that price is it reasonable?

could there be anything else causing a noticable clicking noise :(

$130 is a bargain if they are doing chage over shafts plus labour

but it sounds like its your CV joints failing, there on the ends of your shafts.

just get it fixed as soon as you can.

$80 with a reconditioned driveshaft per side, fitted?

I got quoted $290 per side + labour!

well, unless u spend copious amounts of time looking for a mechanic who can do it $20 cheaper, the issue of time vs money comes into play. better get it fixed wtih someone you know and "trust" as opposed to chasing the buck.

just ask him if he can do a better price with cash. Most members say get it done asap. I dont know the implications of leaving it undone for a prolonged period of time, but be aware that others parts could be damaged in the process of hunting for a well priced mechanic. :)
