Hey peeps,
Looking to get another stereo in my car and so far I've got these components and still choosing between some others:
Deck: Alpine 9855R (got it)
Front: Boston pro's or Seas Ensemble (both 5.25") <--- which should i go for?
Front amp: Audison SRx2s
Sub: DD 9510 or Kicker L7 12" <--- which should i go for?
Sub amp: Audison LRx1.400
let me know what you'se think, whether i should change some component or what...
Cheers

Just a question for you, how come your opting for 5.25" instead of 6 or 6.5"? Constraints in space?
That is some awesome gear you've picked out!

The main reason to choose those size splits is because i already have a set that size (Seas splits) or can get the bostons at a decent price of a mate of mine. Also to fit the 6.5"properly i'd have to get custom pods made up and at the moment i can't afford that.
I would prefer to run 6.5"or bigger if i could, but money won't allow it right now.

Great setup!
Although I would go for an Adire Shiva Sub - it would be earth shattering with that 400w amp, more powerful at half the price without paying for a "brand" name ;)

The biggest problem with the Adire subwoofers is that they usually require quite large enclosures. :(
On the subject of power, the LRx1.400 can be configured to run 400, 600 or 900 watts happily.
Per10d, as for fronts, with your listening tastes I'd probably run with the Bostons although if you can at all save for pods, the 6.5"s would be a much better solution than the 5.25"s.;)

yeh I'm actually looking at trying to keep the enclosure size to as small as i can.
and yes as marty stated the audison sub amp will be run at 1ohm for 900rms, might just get a fan setup too as i hear they tend to get a little got, altough my friend had the same amp pushing a 12" L7 for over a year in a daily set up with no problems what do ever.
I totally agree with you on the splits issue, that's why i'm considering holding off for a little longer and saving the cash for custom pods and new splits.
Hey marty in terms of the sub, whats your honest opinion about the DD 9510 in terms of SQ? how would you compare it to 12" L7? basically i would like my system to sounds clean, tight and have some decent amount of SQ.

My 500w Audison SRx3 gets warm but never gets too hot or overheats - mainly because it already has a fan built in. Im sure your Audison has a fan as well, so you dont need an extra fan
My old Sony Xplode 600w amp on the other hand used to heat up all the time and shut off and cause the cars lights to dim, couldnt power my Shiva well, and eventualy it failed. In other words, Sony make cr@p amps.
