Hey guys, quick question

Ive just bought some DTM headers for my ZC CRX.

Only problem is im not ready get the whole exhaust done yet, how can i tell the headers will fit without takening my standard headers off?.

ive taken the heat shield off and roughly measured the bolts distance apart. Seems to be the same distance apart.

Has anyone got the measurements in between the ports?

thanks in advance
any other way?

youre refering to the flange bolts?

if they are made for the CRX ZC they should fit.

You can still have them fitted while leaving the standard pipe until you decide its time to change it. I had my extractors fitted to my stock pipework.

not alot have ZC crx, wouldn't the D16Y8 CRX be the same?

There is no d16y8 CRX.

Only d16a8 local and b16a JDM gen two's ~
But yes the ZC and d16a8 are exactly the same with dimensions , so ZC = d16a8 :)

sorry guys, i should of specified

the headers are apparently for a d series engine

i have a zc crx... im just not 100% sure they will fit.

i have looked at them and they seem the same

any way i can tell.. by looking at them it seems the headers are bigger than standard and it seems they will be very close to the radiator fan. *worried now*

any ideas besides pulling them off?

so, you bought d-series headers without finding out what car they go on?? if they're made for a CRX, then you'll have no troubles

sorry i dont think they were made for a crx

i bought it from a guy of here

he said he ordered them for something else but apparently they sent the wrong ones.. these were for a d-series engine..

any ideas?

what you will find with after market headers is that the pipe diameter IS going to be different as well as the angels of the piping - so you might mind that they will come close to the radiator but won't touch it - that is still ok - say within 1cm or 2cms.

find out what motor they are off. Im have a hunch they are for the D16Y8... not sure if the flange is thesame (thats the part that bolts to the cylinder head incase you don't know).

maybe thats what i was scared off... the guy i bought them off doesnt know what engine they were for.
Apparently someone told him they were for a d series engine.

i have just confirmed the ports are correct. i purchased a exhaust gasket for the crx d16a8 and it lines up correctly with the headers.

can anyone confirm if the d16y8 have the same ports and bolts as the d16a8?

if the gasket lines up correctly on the header flange - all the bolts are in the correct places etc - then it doesn't matter now if its a D16Y header really. It should be fine...

any REAL dseries header will fit mate.

if it is sold as a 'BOLT-ON' header with no mods needed to the rest of the system then it should fit no worries. most headers are sold to be 'bolt-on' btw

i suggest doin it, i mean even if its wrong its not a hard swap and also id rather find out sooner or later than if the header is the correct one or not.
