ok this annoyance has been with my car since i bought it. Basically the coolant resevoir is always at just above minimum. I have filled it a few times with more coolant but after about a week it would go down to just above minimum and stay there.

There is no sign of coolant leaking from motor/radiator anywhere.
Engine temp gauge constant around half way mark.
No sign of leakage from heater unit.
Recently replaced thermostat.
sparkplugs look clean.

So where is the coolant going? What else can I check?

oil your oil cap and radiator cao.. see if water and oil is mixing in there.
check by pass hoses, could also be the pipe, behind the cylinder head (from the pump to thermostat)

i thought so, the usual signs arent there that there is a leak.
oil is clean.
coolant is clean.
so its not mixing there.

so can i ask where does the water go?

this happened to my civic, and 2-3 weeks later i delevoped a small hairline crack on the top plastic tank, could be u have a tiny hairline crack which could be leaking out while driving and the coolant is not noticible, anyways thats what happend to me you could be different, check out the top tanks thoroughly, especially where the joins are and the clip thingys that hold the tanks in place...
