Hi, guys, I am new here... used to own some turbo cars before.... but got too many problems, like overheating, turbos, cops.....now I changed to a civic vti-r, hoping to get a ver reliable ride.

However, after I drive a few days, my car is not starting any more, when I towed it to the mechanic, he said my immobiliser got problem. Then I rang up Honda for a quotation, its nearly 2k. I can't afford that after I just purchased this car, anyway my mechanic told me he can try to bypass it with hot wiring but he needs a diagram (he is very sure he can do it, coz he done it before but he forgot where to put one of the wires) just wondering if any of u guys can give me a hand? it really feels very bad after purchasing a car and couldn't drive. cheers

that's a strange problem to have. An alternative might be to get a jdm ecu that doesn't use immoboliser and use that. Probabaly cost your around $250 or so.

your ecu can be modifies to disable the immobiliser

how sure are you that the immobiliser is at fault

new immo kit is about $400, plus labour,

you should get more quotes

Um... I rang up a wrecker the other day, got the quotation of 800 for second hand one... anyway, I just bought a spoon ecu overseas (hopefully can bypass it), maybe at the end of the day, I still get the problem fixed and gain some power?

haha.... actually mine is not too much a stocky.... got some spoon cams, spoon light flywheels, excedy clutch, short shift, 4-1 5zigen extractor, full tanabe exhaust, couple of suspensions, Mugen cold air intake... now with the spoon ecu.... feel extremely excited when v-tec kicks in... love the v-tec over the turbos already......

stock valve springs? retainers ?? @ 9500rpm ?????

yeah dude, its what geo14e said that is most important

the cams might help you rev that high but

stock retainers may not hold with frequent visits to 9500RPM, drop a valve and all that hard work is over

if you havent upgraded the springs and retainers do your self a favour and do them and enjoy your new ecu., or dont rev it so high,
