Sorry if its been up before but can someone tell me why i have a catch can running from my intake pipe
what it does and how do i clean it???

intake pipe = wrong.
It should be hooked up via the PCV system ~ here is a basic example on a EG civic

It will help keep oil out of the intake system. It won't stop all of it but it helps. If you check it once a week you should have a few drops to 1/4 oz of oil, any more and I would check the PCV and do a leak-down test. I do that all once a month any ways, it never hurts. Having a breather defeats the system, it no longer sucks from the PCV it now takes from the out side atmosphere. I've seen people buy oil sump tanks with breathers and use those for catch tanks, not realizing they draw from the bottom and push in at the top, so the suck in oil they caught!

I took pictures of my catch can and how it is set up, can somebody tell me if this is the right way of connection???

Photo 1: Blue Hose is going out of the catch can and into the air intake
Photo 2: Black Hose circled in red going into the catch can from ?

Is this right, and what is the black hose coming from???
