It was mentioned on another thread earlier this year that it's going to be an optional wheel for 2006 Euro thru Honda australia. But not sure if it is still the case or not.

One of ozhonda member with 04,or 05 model actually sourced a set himself.

I just did a search, found that thread...

PNR888, that would probably be me. (or me as well, if you're thinking of another member).

Not happy that Honda is making them available in Australia in 06. Now people will think I'm some fool who got 06 rims for my 04. :o

Yeh nice wheels! I'd hate to think how much Honda would charge for those tho.

You could probably get another brand that look similar for half the price..

ps. that euro wagon looks wrong lol

Hi Ken:

I Just found and revisited that thread. Indeed, that was you..
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34611&highlight=Euro+wheel

I am not sure if Honda Aust still bring those optional rims in or not.. Perhaps UNLS1 can confirm for us. I certianly havn't seen any Euro with this type of rim yet. (in Brisbane)

I have in front of my gob the current Euro accessories guide and those wheels are listed as an option for 'Luxury Only'

Eurodude: Believe me, I tried. The only ones that came close were from G.Max, and even then they weren't that great.

For some reason the Euro wagon makes me think Mazda.

PNR888: At this year's Chinese New Year festival in Box Hill Central (one of the asian capitals of Melbourne) one local Honda dealer had an 06 Euro there with those rims fitted. Pic: (http://www.users.on.net/~kennethleung/OzHonda/Image(118).jpg (http://www.users.on.net/%7Ekennethleung/OzHonda/Image%28118%29.jpg))

Btw, they're called 'Penta' or 'Silver Star' depending on what region of the world you're in.

Or the "record" ones:

I saw those wheels on the dealer last week. They sell it for $1600 (set 0f 4 with tyre).

That price looks too good to be true.. what size are those rims? and what tyres come with it?

As far as I know, the genuine OZ rims are quite expansive. They used to supply rims for World Rallye Championship racing car. and for F1 too.

wow, i just checked the honda.com.au website and if u go to accessories under the euro accord they are now offering those exact wheels as accessory for the 06 luxo.

i'm gonna ring and ask how much they are, 1600 with tyres is soooo cheap.

That is cheap: $400 per wheel. I was quoted $350 per rim without tyres from Eastern Honda. Can you tell us which dealer selling them with tyres at that price.

John Blair Honda. Try call the service & parts department 95108833. I think it's for sale so i don't think it will last long. $1600 (wheels + tyres + fitted).

They're the 17x7 "Penta" wheel -- which isn't the same as the A-spec wheel in the US (A-spec were polished 5 x double spoke and 17x7.5).

If you have a car with 16s, Honda are unlikely to fit the 17 inch Pentas for you because of supposed suspension issues.

I would suggest that $1600 is probably just for the wheels -- because they'll only sell them as an option on a Euro Luxury which already comes with 17s so they'll just swap the tyres over.

I already double checked with them. You can buy the wheels even your car is not 06 euro. Also John Blair Honda provides lowering (from $770) & 18" wheels (from $1990) for euro. With the suspension issues, i think it's only the matter you want to take the risk or not. Last time on HondaOne seminar i talked to the director of Honda Australia and he told me to put mugen bodykit, lower the car & change to bigger wheel. He only suggested that change the stock suspension when you want the car to perform better.

I dont understand, whats the risk of putting 17" or 18" on a stock-16" standard Euro?

Entity

the suspension setup between the luxo and the standard models are slightly different to accomodate the different rim sizes

u can sorta see the difference if u park a standard next to a luxo, the standard is a little bit lower.

they just avoiding liability issues but i think as a whole the wheels will pop on without a problem.

anyway i just rang a honda dealership in sydney and they quoted me 800 dollars each for the rims WITHOUT tyres

so if they are selling for 1600 with tyres i'd pay to get them shipped up to sydney =/

they say bigger the wheels, more fuel consumption... i don't know this is fact or myth
and of course..there's a risk of getting pulled by police for defects... :thumbdwn:
well i didnt care and put 19" on mine lol

changing the standard suspension with a lower suspension can result in better handling of the car...i got my car lowered..and when i turn the car, it turns better than when equiped with factory suspension

kleung

Kucing: That makes sense re: the fuel consumption. Assuming the same metal/construction is used, Bigger wheels = more metal = more weight = higher fuel consumption.

Nah it can't be liability because lots of dealers fit aftermarket wheels. I think you guys with the standard model can relax re fitting aftermarket rims. As long as you are sensible re size, offset and weight it will be fine. There are countless Euros/TSXs on the road with aftermarket rims - by far the most tried and tested mod on this car.

ps welcome kucing. I have been expecting you since we spoke at Autosalon - about 3 years ago now! lol
