Hey guys,
I recently went in on the bulk buy for S2K antennas, mine arrived nicely but im having major issues removing my old antenna. It seems as if the whole thing is connected to the little motor. I have no clue how to remove it :(
Any help on totally removing the antenna would be most appreciated. I did a search for it but the guides are like:
Step 1: remove antenna
Step 2: Install the S2k one like this....
None have actually shown how to do step 1, maybe its easy but im lost :(
please help!
Cheers!

Yea hardest part is taking off old antenna. Yes its one piece but its easy to remove if you know whats holding it.
The silver part is a screw top so just unscrew it (counter clockwise). You dont NEED pliers but will help as its hard to get a grip. Once thats off and the bolt which holds it is off the assembly just drops right out.
I removed the rubber seal off mine first and the bolt which holds the antenna, then I was able to push the whole thing upwards which freed the metal plate so I was able to use my fingers to twist it off. When using pliers grip the collar gently and keep turning. May not look like its doin much but keep at it then it will pop right off.
Good luck!

ok got the old one off
now they say there is only 2 wires to connect...

I take it the red wire on the new antenna has to connect to one of the three wires that has the blue connector...
So which one is it? Black, Yellow or White?

the other one is for AM radio, which sucks anyway.
the other one is for AM radio, which sucks anyway.
No its not. The other one is to power the booster which although is not necessary, connecting it will improve your reception especially for weaker signals.

how do u hook up the booster and where do u get it from because i get real average reception compared to my brothers car, but it was always like that even with the massive electric antenna?

Hahaha.. That's gold..... Proof Please!
It's a power wire for the Booster. I've installed a Honda S2K antenna in my car. But cause I don't know what antenna you have.....
But seriously.. AM & FM are received the same way. The thick Black Cable.

hahahaah the red wire on the s2k antenna is for power booster.. which u hook up to the green / yellow wire to get a better reception..
if u had taken out ur old oem antenna u will find that thats the power which enables the antenna motor to work.. not give it AM reception..
oh btw stabo hope ur antenna is working =)

*bennjamin edit* Help out , but dont HINT of previous wrong doings.
anyways guys you both could be right as maybe those other antenna the other guys got doesnt have the inbuilt booster (theres another model that comes with a separate booster) so maybe theirs IS for AM reception? But for this particular model it is to power the booster.

i never had an oem antenna cos i bought it and the ariel was snapped..
and couldnt justify spending 150+ for antenna from honda..
so i spent more than half of that for the s2k replacement

OEM power antenna = + $400 ...Mine was distroyed.
OEM S2K with Booster = $170.
Plus weight saving & less wind resistance.
All good.
