is the model code for the XSi DA9 or DA6?
reason being that i left a deposit on a car which has a b16a in it, which made me think it was an XSi, but the chasi number is DA9? so im not really sure wat it is. if it is an XSi, could sum1 point me in the direction of specs etc...
searching hasnt exactly helped
cheers

da9 is AUDM Ls model
da6 is JDM XSI model,
they probably imported one and swapped everything over.
-Interior is slighty different (color)
-electric folding mirrors
-digital climate control
-B16A stamped on engine (not B16a1 etc etc)
-Not 100% sure but check rear LCA
(mine has eg6/dc2r style ones) not sure if standard
-i think later model Xsi's had ABS aswell.

DA9 doesn't always mean its not JDM i use to drive an import integra LS and its DA9...it really depends on the year....in america they call it Xsi as well....actually there are so many models of xsi..i've even seen one with no sun room no power window everything is manual.....

so the most likely scenario would b that its an aust delivered LS, but its had a b16 conversion?

chances are good, as the XSI Model is a Da6 (as i stated above)
yeah there are also da9 imports but very similar to out LS (if not the same)
also in the US there is RS,LS,LS-S,GS,GS-R,
then theres the JDM - XSi,RSi,ZXi,RZi,TXi

You could apply the same logic to the commodores... Different features, different engines and what-not.

if you were lucky to pick up a 93 Xsi then ull have the 125kw engine (as opposed to the 118kw)

finally... sum1s answered
thanx dude... so im assuming its only a 7kw difference... is that between the gen1 b16 and gen2 b16? or is there a difference between those 2 aswell?

No. They were only 158hp, i.e. 118kw. The only other Vtec engine in those models was the B17A1 in the GS-R, which is rated at 160hp, i.e. 119kw.

wats the redline for the 118kw b16? and when does the vtec kick in?

The XSI Received a facelift and minor alterations in early 1991; the front and rear bumpers were replaced with slightly different versions and the B16A engine was upgraded to produce 170HP due to a larger throttle body (58 vs 60mm) higher compression ratio (10.2:1 vs 10.4:1) and slightly more aggressive camshafts.

FR33K is right in post #14!
the 1993 DA VTEC Integra was ALSO OBD1...
(little known fact ;) )
wkdteg - i owned a jap spec B16A DA9 - but i am not sure it was an XSi... it might have been the RSi model...
here is a good place to look at JDM stuff:

yes, you are still one of the few people on the internet to have ever proved me wrong, LOL!
wkdteg - yes, it was a "DA9" chassis, but fully fitted with ALL jdm parts, the B16A in the engine bay looked factory...
even had pressed steel 'boxed' rear lower control arms (not cast) and ball mount shocks - this is an EASY way to tell if it is original JDM, as i doubt ANYONE would goto the trouble of converting the rear suspension, especially when the easy way to convert a LS integra is to buy only a 'front cut'...
my DA9 integra also had the digital climate control, "Gathers" brand rear speakers, NO SUNROOF, electric folding mirrors, DOHC side mouldings, spoiler mounted brake light, japanese writing on all the parts like fusebox & sun visors (even the doors had jap stickers on them saying 'please lock door' or something!)...
these are jsut a start for you. if you can identify all these parts/accessories, you are for sure getting close to an authentic JDM Integra

Hey Tinker
My LS has those type LCA in the rear and as far as I know mine used to be a Demo car for Honda back when it first came out, another thing I have also noticed is that most Tegs I've seen have diff color interior aposed to mine which is all Black, another thing I have noticed is that mine was built in April 89 and its serial number ends in 0000048!
Could this mean that mine is either an Import model or JDM? also would the 0000048 mean it is one of the first DAs built?

the important word is underlined and in bold
does your car have ALL these attributes?
BTW - all Integra's were "imported"
what the correct and more meaningful questions to ask actually is: "is my car a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) model?"
if your car was indeed a "demo car" for Honda Australia, it clearly was not a true JDM model...
but yes, it was one of the first ever built, perhaps before the had finalised the cast for the rear LCA's... so i guess it is not sucha good indicator for JDMness...

Cool thanks man that clears heaps up for me, I just would have thought that mine could have probably been a JDM model then been guised for the AUS market or something? but since it is one of the first then it is more of a rarety than a JDM most likely the first 47 must be @ the wreckers by now????

Going back to Tinkerbell's old teg, I'd say it was an RSi, the 'sportier' teg.
Here's a quick scan, I'll try to scan more soon. Compare the pics!

Ye, RSi air con looks just like our AUDM tegs, and it looks like it has no power mirrors (according to the sales brochure)
According to this the engines available were limited to the B16A and something called a 'Hyper 16-valve' offered with EFI or dual carb.
All the pre-facelift models:
3-Door:
XSi
RSi
ZXi
RXi
4-Door:
XSi
ZXi
RXi
ZX Extra
ZX
RX
Pleb editions also had 13" steelies!

My fiancee found it on Ebay many moons ago. Some guy in the UK was selling it.
I'm on holidays as of today so I'll see if I can scan it all. It is all in Japanese though, but it has great pics.
There are no pics of brown interiors in there, they may have saved them for the Americans ;)

yeah, the american seat belt thingies r so much better
they hang off the roof of the door thingy
so when the door opens, the seat belt moves forward, when it opens, the belt moves back, and u dont need 2 actualy do ur seat belt... does it automaticly
