Recently seen a DC2 2000-01 limited edition with a big B18A on it.
although engine number on the plate was ***B18C**etc

I searched long and hard through every "history of the R" on the net and found that they only came with a b18C, which is fair enough.

But, I did read on one site that the header or block off the Ls made a comeback for the ITR someway down the production track, the site was from overseas and I dont know how reliable the source was.

Also would someone be able to tell me the exact location of the enigne number would be found on the engine itself. I think I might be going blind or something.

It would be great to hear from someone that owns a similar year and edition to clear this up for me.

wtf.. why would any1 put a civic vtir engine in a DC2R. thats stupid. the b18c for both the r and vtir will chop b16a any day.

Looks like your idea of long and hard may differ from others... I have not heard of any ITRs released with a b16c sorry to say but your source may be wrong...

It could be a JDM version integra. A few of them had a B16A in it. Heck, some even had a D series in it.

No ITR should come with anything other than a B18C (and its a B18C7 or B18C only - no B18C1 or 2) or K20A.

If they do not have these engines, walk away.

yeah but the B18C1 and B18C2 are the GSR or VTi-R engines. and in Japan the SiR-G is also B18C but not Type - R B18C

i do think you have read a few things ere and there and gotten the engine codes completely mixed up.
ITRs came with a b18c block, CTRs - b16b, GSIs - b18b.

just an update.

I test drove a dc2 itr with the actual engine number b18c7 on it. I should have known that the other one was a sham. Even though this one had a full exhaust and headers the vtec was clearly heard and felt compared to the fakey ITR. The sound and general feeling of vtec comming on diverted blood and oxygen to my brain and straight to my groin.

hopefully if the inspection goes well ill have it next week yay!

Thanks for the help guys.

(btw beware to anyone looking at the yellow ITR in beverly hills, sydney)
