Mearusing to the bottom of the skirts isn't the best way.

Best way is to measure from the wheel axle to the guard.

hey guyz.. n also, if u can help me..

im wanting to get 17" rimz.. n i wanna find out if the tyres will scrape my gaurds wen they're sitting there..

is there any measurements.. or anything that i can find out.. to avoid gettin rimz that dont fit?

Best way is to measure from the wheel axle to the guard.

and by that.. did u mean.. from the centre of the rimz.. to the gaurd?

uuummm dude... rim size wont affect it... just lower the profile of the tyre... its not like you go from a 185/60/14 to 185/60/17... that'd be a ****ing 4x4 tyre :P

Just make sure the offset is greater than +43 i belive. I have +38s with 195/55/15 and its DAMN close, even after liping. I had +43s and it was fine till i put 205/55/15s on. then it rubed. got rid of those suckers.

i wish i new wat all these numbers mean...

right now ive got 195/50/15 ... and it therez about 2.5cm gap between the tyre and the gaurd..

therez new rimz that im lookin at.. which are 215/45/17.. and thatz a pretti big diff.. i think.....
SOo thats wat im worried about

ok 195 is the width of the tyre, 50 is the profile measured from the tread of the tyre to the start of the rim and the 17 is the amount of inches the rim is in diamater. 215 will fit your car but get your rear guards rolled so u wont make it scrub when u got ppl in the car or you lower it too much. also a 2.5 cm gap sounds like you only got LOW springs not superlow springs, might wanna invest in some down the track ;)

Mines lowered about 1.5 ... maybe more ... but i had 205/40/17's on it ... 205/45's just had the car sitting on the rubber ....

40's were fine though ... barely ever got rub at all

yes dont forget the profile of a tyre is dependant on width.

e.g 205/40/17

would mean the profile of the tyre is 40% of 205

which also means a 215/40/17 will not be the same profile as 205/40/17

im sure many people already know this but would just like to point it out as it hasnt been covered :)

215 will rub if the offset on your wheel is too small... You guys are forgeting that... i have +38 with 195/55/15s and it rubs every now and then.

no thats the tyre... It tells you the offset on the wheels...

behind the wheels, usually, is where you should be looking to find out the offset.
