Chopped springs are bad, mmmmmkay!
As BlitZ said, look at the springs themselves, they should taper off flat on the ends. It should be pretty obvious if they have been cut, in which case you'll have to go out and get new ones, because the strucural integrity of the springs will have been altered by the cutting, making them unsafe.

kakakakaak yeah are generally bad....
but im more than happy with my set up. ;)
i do advise against it..
i cut a dead progressive coil off my OEM springs.. it will low the car by 1 cm..
considering its a dead coil, i dont think it really matter.
even now.. my sprigns sit so flat that they would still sit up..
but yeah dont do it

I havent got a pic.. but the end is suppose to be nicely rounded..
one end should almost sit up... they normally cut this end as the other end has to fit the lower perch..
it the springs can almost sit one on one side ti should be uncut..
and besides when people cut it they dont normammly paint it..
