Just wondering if anyone has seen/gotten an i-VTEC indicator for the 06 Civics.

Something like- http://www.icemode.com/index.php?option=com_zoom&Itemid=29&catid=1

... or

V Tec Indicator
The Do-Luck V Tec indicator is designed for Honda vehicles which have a V Tec engine. Its purposes is to illuminate when the V Tec is engaged to show you when you are in the V Tec power band. The unit is installed within 30 minutes and connects into your vehicles ECU. The indicator can be used a various colour schemes, for example without the V Tec engaged the unit can be unlit and when engaged it can light one of seven different colours as chosen. Alternatively it can be one of seven colours and when V Tec is engaged it illuminates one of the other six colours available. This is designed for multiple applications, hence the choice in colours. The gauges comes complete with wiring instructions for each vehicle along with a fitting kit including electrical connectors and a mounting bracket. They are priced at £95+vat per unit

Thats interesting. Sometimes I wander if my Euro is in VTEC but its hard to tell sometimes.

I wander if it would work properly on Euro's since they have iVTEC - which are three stage VTEC I think, or two stage with VTC.

You should be able to hear the difference. If not...put on a CAI and you'll hear it everytime guaranteed ;)

It is 2 stage. And it should work as the ECU still has to send a signal to the VTEC solenoid.

So 2 stage means that VTEC#1 kicks in at around 2500rpm, and VTEC#2 kicks in at 6800rpm? So I guess that would mean you need two LED's/lights to indicate the different VTEC stages, or one light hooked up to the two seperate VTEC solenoid wires that light up one after the other.

Or maybe I dont understand how iVTEC works lol

Nah, what you are thinking about is 3 stage.
2 stage is:
Stage 1: idle to 6000rpm
Stage 2: 6000rpm to 7300rpm.

VTC (which is what i-VTEC has over all other VTECs) changes cam phasing through out the entire RPM range.

Wow - so much knowledge in this thread. Will have to hand out some PQ points :).

I see thanks. Thought I read somewhere it kicks in at ~2x00 and at 6000

Some articles are misleading I guess. I remember previously that I thought that the Euro had a 12 valve operation mode which switched to 16 valves at higher revs.
