Hi all,

I measure the centre hub ring of my CRV and it is around 65mm....At the moment, the rim that I am running on my CRV, has a centre bore hole of exactly 65mm from the inside of the rim to the outside. Perfect fit, no problem…

The problem is with the new rims that I am going to put on. It has a 72mm from the inside and narrow down to 65mm on the outside. I believe the rims are off a Nissan, thus a large hub size than Honda.

I want to know if there is a problem of running larger centre bole hole rims, not touching the hub ring of my CRV…Google around lends me to something like hubcentric rim and lugcentric rim and hub location ring and all that…..which doesn’t make much sense to me…

There must be someone out there running larger centre bole hole rims…..please help… :honda:

Thank you in advance… :)

Well , bolt failure, bolt bending and potentially rim failure. get hub centric rings from your local tyre shop y0!

i think its about $14 or thereabouts.. they normally come free with wheel purchase.

It used so u mount the wheels 100% even.
you can possibiliy get by without them if you wheels and nuts used are the shunk type..
If so tighten them slowly in the correct wheel tigtening order...

I rand wheels without hub rings for 3 years not 1 issue.. but thats just me

These rings are usually made from polycarbonates (as i've read). You can also get them in aluminium. But yep they basically fill the gap. Good to see a wise OH member being smart about alloy wheels and taking into account ALL factors :) kudos

you have to check with the tyreshop to find out if there are rings to fill the gap you have.
some factory rims dont have a flat centre bore but rather it has a notch or something odd.

aftermarket rims have a universal large centre bore.
there is no doubt the nissan centre bore is much smaller than this hence you may not be able to just source centre adaptors to fit.

when the centre bore is not correct this puts a lot of stress on the stud bolts because thats the only thing supporting the car.

good luck
