Hey all.

Just wondering. For all D16Y VTEC Owners out there. Just wondering how loud will a 2.25 inch mild steel press bent system with no resonator, stock cat and a 2.5 inch inlet N1 Cannon sound like. I have Xforce Headers too. Just wanna know how loud the system will be. Issit really really loud that cops will always pull me over or issit ok.

Thanks

Hey.

Well I have xforce headers going down to 2.25inch mandrel bent stainless system with a resonator, no cat and 2.5 inlet n1 style muffler. It's LOUD! Although haven't been pulled over just as yet (touch wood).

I've been pulled over and the pigs complained my exhaust was too low. I made up some crap saying inspectors said height was ok. Pigs then proceeded to look under, around and in the car...Without the resonator it would have sounded like it was about to explode. Should be putting in a high flow cat in the near future.

Just love the sound...music to my ears...girlfriend and a few others dislike it...they just have bad taste.

I had a 2.25" mandrel bent, with a resonator and a proper performance muffler(with dual 2.5" exit) that had a great growl at idle but was still very loud when VTEC kicked in ;)

the sound mainly depends on the muffler. so N1 style its gonna be loud. If you buy a good jap brand some sound nice compared to cheap copies

If you can get your hands on a DC5R or DC2R exhaust is also a good option without the loud sounds hehe

i think he was more after the look of the muffler more than the sound.

as long as you dont get a spoon n1 it should b ok

because even with standard piping and spoon n1 muffler at back its pretty loud !

buddy club make very good n1 style mufflers, when at low rpm's is quiet and when hard on throttle has a nice sound to it, without being excessively loud. But if you want to go n1 muffler its best to have a resontor to keep the volume down a bit.
