View Full Version : Fuel pump dies??!!! ECU man HELP!!!

i got a strange problem just happened 2nite..
i was driving home the car suddenly dies. i tried to start it again but there was no fuel pump engaging. so after sitting there for about 1 minute orso, i started the car again and the fuel pump engaged and the car started.
but after 5 mins of driving the car died again.
after about a minute the car started again and i drove it home.

what could be the problem??
does any1 have any suggestion ??

hey cuz,
maybe main fuel relay ? wat car u got? typically found on drivers kick panel under the dash on the side.. pull it out check it seee wats crackin its pretty cheap part to replace so try replacing it or fix it if u know wat u doin..

definetely main relay... pull it out, resolder the connections, pop it back in... good to go

like they said above, sounds like the relay,
if hte pump was gone, it would not come back at all

main relay would be your first option

if that hasnt solved it - then you want to check your distributor - ignitor coil, or ignition control module need replacing

if that hasnt solved it, then ur stuffed lol.

If your fuel pump died, you would not get any more fuel and your car would not start again.

sure... but why spend the money to replace it when you can pull it out and resolder the connections for super cheap/free(literally takes 30 seconds once the relay is out) and it works just as well?

yeap seems like everything is good guys

so far 2 days in a row nothing wrong with the car yet :D

yeah i DIY soldered the relay
now it's okay for now.
but i am still looking for a replcament.

if you soldered it properly it will be 100% ok, no need to get a new one :)
