everytime i drive after 60km/h i can hear this ticking .. and it was ticking when i was turning the vehicle but that has been fixed cos of the tore cv joint but cease to end the ticking sound when going straight ..

this sound happens when im goiing straight seems to be coming outta all the wheels .. my mechinics said that my bushes were gone ..

could that be the problem?

your speedo cable is noisy,

that could be one thing, or ticking from the cluster ( odometer ) if you have a VSS type car

bushings usually do not make ticking noises. Worn bushings will usually make your car vibrate at high speeds. You usually will not notice that until you hit over 100km.

Other thing it might be is that wheel bearing are gone but usually all 4 do not go at the same time.

So for it to come from all 4 wheels its should be something else.

Have you put any new wheels or brake pads on?

I'd get another opinion from a different mechanic just in case.

Where abouts you located? if your in Syd i'd take it to Hanny's performance, they are good all round mechanics and only deal with hondas.

now whenever i drive it, i can hear the noise when my foot isnt on the gas pedal or pressing the clutch. what could this be?

check your tyres, you just might find a bolt or something lodged in there. happened to my mate the other day, tick tick tick as he drove.

Id seriously like to know what that noise is !!!
Did you get an OD on the car when u picked it up. If you did, i will run it off the figure i have because i can guarantee NO clicking noise was there when I delivered it.

well my car isnt shaking or vibrating, it just making these bang noises in a consistant matter depending on the speed im going. hmmm should i drive it to a mech or tow the car?? its like 30km drive i think...would i do too much damage to the car?

I actually have a similar problem. Dont mean to hijack the thread... sorry.

When I'm going at 60km/h (not so much at higher and lower speeds) there's a flapping sound from the rear of my car. Sounds a bit like left-rear but I haven't yet investigated thoroughly. It started on the way back from a rally a couple of weeks ago, so it's quite likely to be something to do with the loose gravel I was driving on. The sound is a constant flapping sound more than a ticking. Had a look under the car and there's nothing loose down there that I could see. Might take the wheel off and have a better look. Any idea what I'd be looking for?
Other than the sound, everything is 100% so I'm not too concerned.

you could do your wheel bearings yourself. I rem when i did mine i got quoted $350 as the bearings for Honda's are expensive. You could do it yourself. Or i'm sure there would be some OZH members who would do it for you for a small fee.

Ouchie, well it seems my flapping/ticking has gone away so somehow I must've unknowingly defused the bomb.
