Sometimes when I use the brakes hard or at high speed, they feel like they are grinding?
The pads are ok, brake fluid ok

Also, sometimes at very low speeds just as the car is about to stop I feel a grind senseation from the pedal and hear it as well.

What can it be?

how shure are you that the pads are ok?
what is the condition of your rotors?
there not warped/groved?

i've had the same problem. Are the brakes new? you shouldn't be braking hard on them if they are. If they are new, brake softly for about 10000kms to wear them in. Also, what I did, I took off my brake pads and gave them a good wipe just for any small particles that may be causing the griding. No more noise after that.

lol haha yeah....8000kms?!?! man you must rip your brake pads. Mine last way longer then 8000kms. Probably 15000kms.

I have 20,000km and I"m still on the original OEM pads. Already been through 1 trackday as well. Still good. Just need to change the fluid now.

It it coming from just one wheel?

It could be a foreign object in the brake caliper area, have you checked for stones/sticks stuck in there?

Could be the pad compound and disc just working with eachother. Mums Astra does this with premium pads and discs, all brand new. It doesnt effect the performance at all, car brakes harder than ever.

As for the guy who "wipes down" pads...thats not very smart. If anything, you want to take the pads out and do some semi circles on the ground with them to rough them up.

I got 75 000kms out of a front set of OEM's, I didnt granny drive it either,

like EuroDude said, look for stones if your 100% sure your pads are ok

yeh I agree, start using the engine to brake if not doing so. Ever since ive used teh engine, my pads have lasted twice as long.

pads will last longer, but if ur gearbox is in shit condition, its cheaper to replace pads than a gearbox or bearings.... yeh as others hav said, check for rocks, cos ive had that b4, and its also possible (which has been mentioned) that the discs are warped... u'd need to hav a close look to tell if they are, does it shudder as u brake? like feel unstable?

check they are not in upside down, you will see on the pad a tappered edge should face down for memory, some pads have both sides tappered some have none at all, just a thought

also my lockheed pads make the worst sound in the world sometimes, just the type of compound

The brakes are not new.
I had a brake upgrade done and the brakes are I think from a late 80's or early 90's car so I am assuming the rotors might be gone?
I am not sure if they are warped. They don't really feel warped but they sqeak at intermidiate times (they go sqeak...sqeak... sqeak... at parking speeds)

Also, when I turn and there is a bit of force on the wheels the sqeaking gets louder.

Pads are newish. Maybe under 10,000km on them. The problem used to be really bad, got the wheels bearings changed, and rotors machined, it got much better but the problem is still there

to me that sounds either like:
1. the wear indicator on the pads
2. a completely different prob non related to braking
