what would you opinions be on a Coupe converted Eg civic 4 door sedan into a 2 door, by welding the Rear Doors and shaveing the handells etc. Let me know what you guys think on the topic, cool ? weird ? different ? would like to see done ? hate the idea? etc etc

you would have stumpy front doors, as coupes have longer doors like the hatches. Also the coupe's share the same front end as hatch EG's not sedans. It would be easyer to grab an EK coupe and put EG hatch lights on the front.

All the iterior is retrimed so there are no handells or door locks etc etc, and will be removeing rear seats in futur, registered and complied as a 2 seater

Yes it is a 2 seater, rear seats are going to be removed, Half cage will be installed + a Nitruos or co2 setup with the bottles mounted where the back seats use to be.

i did want a coupe and something completely out there different, now if i just bought an ek coupe that surely wouldnt be it... IMO

Try to think how you would feel if you were to post a picture of your car that you had put sooooo much effort into and people were to say uncalled for offensive remarks about yours. Such as "Yuck, foul, its shit and ugly etc etc"

I never knocked jdm style, its not all show no go its putting out almost twice the standard power of the factory motor, so dont say its all show no go. I wont be running nitruos, mostl likely co2. And what rematch are you talking about what car do you have? i havnt drivin my car since atleast august last year....

No. The proportions look fine. the lines arnt spectacular, but the point is its done well and does not deserve such harsh comments. I never once did say JDM was shit, like many people have said about this car. All you defensive JDM ricers need to take a look at how closed minded you are and stop attacking. Id expect more from some of the ppl in this thread, its really surpised me.

I don't understand how it looks "wrong"??? it looks exactly the same as it did before, just with the rear doors welded and shaved... By doing this, he's created a more cruiser/ low rider look, for which i say :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

Nah mate dont stress, i was refering to others, and yes it is a wrx scoop mounted inverted, and has vent just above the turbo to release heat out the scoop. Also i like the style of it... IMO

Thanks again guys, As a matter of fact i have a 2nd bonnet but no pictures yet, Its a triple vented Fibreglass bonnet that is painted black with the same ice pearl as the car. It goes pretty well together as the contrast is nice. As for Rims, 19s or 20inch chromes i will be in the market for soon, however for some track rims i wouldnt mind some 15/16inch Black light weight rims....

Gday, thanks for the complement :) yes there are back seats at the moment, but simply because i havnt had time to get most of the interior sorted. The Back seats will be going and just trimmed over with carpet and a co2 or nitruos bottles there in replacement. And also it has been registered, and certified as a 2 seater now :).


And yes!! welding the front doors!!! i would love that, i never thought of it.... would be cool, ahha maybe shaved front doors, and seucide rears.... or reverse scissor rears....

Also, yes i know what you mean, its strange though as i am not running any crazy suspension setup just king springs on standard shocks. but because it looks much longer it visually looks lower to the ground.

Ive seen this car from the absolute start to what it is now, hell I was there the day lyle got his exhaust on, if any of you were in my position words will absolutely not describe the transformation this car has undergone. And ive seen it flog the pants of many a nissan. Very schmick lyle.

Yes this engine is simple and i have had much fun with it and goes great for what it is, Being a D15b7 - basic turbo setup, standard internals and injectors, produceing 110fwkw on 7psi. And in all honesty i am very happy with that with the supporting engine mods

First of all i have been trying to make my points clear and i dont see why they are not getting across clearly.

- I COMPLETELY understand and respect the fact there are people on here that like and disslike my car.
- I COMPLETELY understand and respect the fact that there will be people on here that post that they like or disslike my car.
- I Posted my picturs of my car knowing that i would get a mixure as such and i have no problem with that either. I want to know what other honda owners think and i do care about their opinions, but in saying that no one can ever discourage me to do what i want to do to my car.

Could probably use a tasteful wing, 'cos there's something about the rear I dont like. Definitely like to see a bit of black down the side or something to break it up. So, it's not my style but it's a great job. Looks like a stack of work has gone into making it seamless. That weld is very good.

No worries mate, yeh the whole goal of the car was to get it completely shaved as much as possible and to make it "Clean" in my eyes and that is how it was best done... IMO... I am not realy a fan of any sort of wing so that is why i stayed away from it.

Agreed Suicide doors would look great but rear doors with a 'dog leg' require much time effort and money to do the conversion and i just decided against it in the end, and in my opinion i liked the idea of welded rear doors because it is a really uniquie mod to do, which i think looks heaps better

hey mate, hmmm a hatch door would look better i believe as it is longer and would have a better proportion on it. But where the door shuts would all have to be modified, which looks to me to be a significant structrual part of the car. i spose it would be possible but i think i touwl be very costly and im not even sure what would have to happen to the back windows...

Not really a fan of wings too much, i dont mind the wing on that first eg coupe on page 12 but other then that i like a more shaved look.

basically an old exhaust manifold + adapter plate + turbo. Its a VERY cheap alternative for a turbo manifold. Not the best power either, but does the job none the less.

THanks also for the nice replys guys, some things i am still working on. as i realy need new wheels, i know this ! ahha. I got a nice set lined up that will match the car very very well, and also have a triple vented fibreglass bonnet with a much smoother look, also painted black with the same ice pearl so it should break up the car reallly well! Will have them sorted in the next few weeks, will post up some pics when its finished.

MM yeh i dont mind lip kits at all, i think im gonna go more that style on my next car, but im relaly happy with the kit i got on this at the moment. Yes wheels getting rid of them soon but will have reallllly nice replacements by end of week :):)

Rear scissors are a bit of a screw around, they would have to be completly custom made and designed. Although i have seen reverse scissors on the rear of cars which i think looks pretty cool under circumstances. but pretty costly and custom too :s

Yes i do treat it very well, only use the best of the best products on it and drive rarely. And yes about attitude i know what you mean, and i can honestly look back at situations in the past and regretted things i have said or a way acted. Something i really dont want to be in future, as i dont look at people who act in that way very well. And i defffinately dont want to be looked by that way especially by other honda owners.... :)

Yeh mate i got big plans but its gonna be a long project, really after cover of hot 4s sometime in next few years.

planning on full interior retrim, new stereo install, big brakes and more suspension gear and finish my high hp engine and get it running in the car etc etc.... so much stuff that can be done

I also picked up some black honda fat 5s a few weeks back, hopefully the jdm lovers might like? does look too bad either with the black 15s.

and yes would be very interesting to see what it would turn out with a more suttle kit, such a a lip kit with smoother curvers and lines (which are growing on me more these days.

Yeah fair enough insults on a forum yes i agree rather immature, however, people (not saying yourself) will critisise lyle for what he's doing, saying its stupid why bother etc etc, when all they've done is gone to autobahn or where ever, slapped on some chromes, clear lights, get on the wagon like every other tom dick and harry, then pay him out calling his car a rice bucket? when this guy is actually making the extra effort to pull something off that you wouldnt see every day. Because mate ive been with this car since it was nothing but a stocker, there's a polite way to tell someone your not a fan of the car, rather than saying that just looks shit, or what a waste of money, and im not getting fired up mate, im just voicing my two cents like everyone else, i just think there's a respectful way to tell someone you like it or not, which most people on here have done, however its not a perfect world so at the end of the day you cant please everyone, only please yourself i guess:)

As to all the arguing (contraversy) after owning this car i have been at the conclusion for some time.. that owning something done to such an extreme complete in 1 way ... there will always be people who really like the style and appreciate it to people that think its disgusting and a waste of time/money... when i started this thred a while back i realised this and i knew i would get a responce like this (people like / people hate) im not conplaining and i honestly do welcome all opinions and feedback as long as its done in a respectfull way.

Im more stocked on the fact not so much on how many people have liked it, but the interest it has generated on the forum Good and bad...

Car looks tough bro alot of people don't appreciate how much time and effort it takes to get your car to that type of standard. Just finished geeting mine kitted and painted. I was down helping the boys work on it and once you see all the prep work and finishing touches that go into a build you learn to appreciate what it takes to get a car looking good. Well done mate.

well you all know i'm a JDM-whore.. so it's not my cuppa tea but i can still appreciate the work you've put into this car !!

the paint work looks immaculate etc.. i much prefer the newer rims in the later pics.. love the shaved door handles, love the frilled door-strips, love the relocated rear number plate.. love the red/clear tail lights.. and good to see you using her at the strip though i suspect all the extra weight didnt help a whole lot.

I like to see people taking the hot-rod approach to customising thier civics !!

Have the cops said anything to you about that. I know some ppl have been defected for having the back of the bonett raised (wit washers). In case radiator hose or oil lines burst (i know it won't happen to us because we always check and clean our engine bays at least once a week) the cops said it would cover you windshield therefore unsafe/illegal blah blah blah....

Anyhow, the car looks good man like the hatch too, good luck with the sale.

Yeah, if they want to give you a ticket they will find something. I got one once because my wheels are 3mm over the legal limit. I wasn't happy but that's the law so i paid the fine.

How much was it to mount the scoop onto the bonett. I've got an 05 STi one sitting here. I was tempted to put it on for laughs but it looks massive on the civic bonett.

ahh in terms of cost im not sure as everything was done under one bill... i do know however that we tried some resins and they failed every time as they didnt like the heat... so if you do it best bet is go fibreglass...

what size are your wheels... the whole 2sizes larger then standard is a load of shit and false... 15mm over and 23mm under standard rolling diameter is legal in qld

also i think what your talking about if you change the cars structure that much you have to get an identicle car first to test the structural strength of the car first (eg crash it) and if its passes as new the mod would be acceptable
