hi all, I am using stock 15" dc2r rims at the moment. I see that some civic/integra owners putting in 16 or bigger rims. Just wondering what's the advantage of doing that other than for show?

all i know that it adds more weight and the car needs more torque to move the extra weight, not to mention the extra cash spent on bigger rubber.

No advantage, except for the extra inertia (if you count that as an advantage) which means that your rims will spin a bit more because they weigh a bit more (generally).

if you're running 15's, then only option in my mind if you want to get a bigger set of rims is a set of 16's which weigh less than the 15's you currently have... (stock 15's weigh 6.1 but a set of desmond regamaster's aka spoon rims weigh 9. sth pounds in a 15 inch so pretty damn light)

not going to make a big difference on the R... but more rubber... :)

better grip... looks better hahaha

ITR rims are quite light as they are. Going for say 16"s is purely for looks IMO.

If you are going for 16's make sure you get nice light ones. maybe even DC5r ones if you can get em.

16s can allow for larger rotors. If I did change my wheels they would be 16", but lightweight. It's the best compromise between looks and performance. Performance wise I would be looking at some lightweight 15x7 wheels.

as far as i know there is no advatage, even though i gots 17's. the only advantage is upsizing you rotors and calipers.

you can also have lower profile tyres without losing too much in overall diameter. This means that there is less tyre roll with lower profile rims.
