Hey guys. I'm from the uk & i own a 1995 eg civic.... jdm stylee. I am moving to Australia around september time and thinking about getting another civic hatch. Really like the facelift eks so i've been looking at a few aussie car sites to see what's for sale and prices etc.

We have different model names over here in the UK so I don't have a clue what spec certain cars are. Can somebody give me a list of what they are engine wise. We have a special edition Civic Jordan which is basically a yellow VTI with Jordan (F1 team) logos on it. I notice you guys have an Indy special edition. Is that VTI spec? Can the lower spoiler be removed easily?

Also how would insurance compare on an EK VTI, or Del Sol, or Nissan S13. I will be 21 when looking at buying

sorry just noticed the sticky thread explaining the models. uk spec VTI is Australian VTIR from what I can see.

Please still help on other Qs

www.justcar.com.au

online insurance quotes, sent back to you usually within 24hrs.

Indy Civic is CXi, which is the base model, 88kW SOHC non-VTEC. Yes the lower spoiler can be removed easily, but you'll need to patch up the holes I believe... (someone please correct if I'm wrong)

You'll get more response in about 6-7hrs... it's 5:30am in Sydney now and most people are asleep =P (except me, the night owl, ^_^ haha)

Get an EM1 (B16A) - coupe version of the EK - it was the last of the good-looking civics as anything after came from the Charles Manson school of Honda good looks.

I agree with Setanta - go for an EM1. Insurance shouldn't be too bad, and it'll be a hoot to drive.

Yeh i have to admit I have been looking at those. It's the VTIR right? Everywhere I read says they are rare? Is that true or just something people write to sell them easier?

shop around for your insurance.

Get a Del sol :), take the roof off and enjoy the Ausi sun . very nice cars. Insurance on them isnt that bad, just have to shop around a bit.

and you sure dont want a R33 GTS:p
if you go a R33 make sure its a GTS-t, although insurance on those is pretty steep. but all turbo's are pricey to insure.
yeah del sols are pretty good.
yep EM1's are VTiR's. and yeah they can be fairly scarce compared to other models which does see the price stay highish. though they do pop up often enough if your set on one.

bring an EP3 over from the UK.

If I was going to get one i'd get it imported from Japan. We don't have championship white over here and that's the colour i'd have to have.

Too many choices.
