maybe a turbo?

why don't you just get a type R
for whats it worth, unless you really need that sunroof, its cheaper just buying a type r

get a k20... or work a B18c....

IEVAQ8

that defets the purpose, the whole idea is to keep up with a typer with minimal mods, and then go nuts and beat it with turbo

umm... i'm not good with honda's yet.... but from my guess... if your running a D series engine... your not going to get very far... from my understanding, K, B and H series engines are the decent ones... D's are for getting you from a - b

ohh... in that case.... find out the differance's between the VTIR B18 and the TR B18....

VTI-r Vs ITr (redbook) (http://www.redbookasiapacific.com/au/vehicle/comparespecs.php?key2=HOND99VJ&key=HOND99RR)

one of the things is that the ITr has a higher compression ratio... and that its also lighter... they also both have diff engines.. but torque is the same... so if you where to get the same weight.... you should be able to keep up with it.... till about 7300RPM.. when you'd have to change to 2nd... and the ITr would still have 500RPM left... so yeah.... there is the purchase price of the car... then the added price of making it as quick.... yet it'll handel like sh!t compared to the ITr....

if u got a full exhaust, intake, and ecu or vafc in a vti-r... i would think u would be faster then a stock type r on the straights

lightweight rims, good tyres, CAI headers exhaust, a piggy-back. it will be close. if you wanna beat a type r then get intake manifold, cams, cam gears, valves and springs. Also a new suspension setup will help you get more grip.

DC2R's rev until 8400rpm...therefore it will have 900rpm left

VTi-R's rev to 8250...

Adding Intake Exhaust and minor piggyback retune won't make you gain 20KW @ the fly.

Plus, they have shorter gearing...

as dark138 said, might as well get a type r, would be cheaper

defininitely cheaper to buy an R. Plus it's the total package.

An Integra VTIR can beat a DC2 Type R, both in stock form if the vtir driver can drive and the type R driver cant. Its been tryed and proven, i wont go into to details due to terms and conditions on Ozhonda..

you can get a 1993 dc2 vtir for $10k these days.
ITR cheapest is about $19k.

Spend 9k putting a k20a in and coilovers.

Vtir ftw.

its not hard to get a vtir to beat an ITR.

If ure talking about mods, do the same old, IHE and ECU if u wanna stay NA, or if you dont mind FI, get a turbs.

Vtir = way better value car than ITR imho.

I have to agree with you here!
Knowing what to do to make your dc2 go quicker has been covered off soo many times guys, that Adrian from TODA AU has written up a Bang For Bucks thread which is stickied up the top of the Integra forum.
You obviously didn't search too hard did you!! tsk tsk tsk
Read this and be happy...

Imo, its stupid spending so much money on a vtir (NA) when you can jst use that money to buy an R and get the complete package.

y spend money on minimal mods when your going to turbo anyway???? Just aim to buy a turbo kit from day 1!!!!

i was working with what redbook game me.... a friend of mine has a DC2r and that goes out to like 9500.... but i didn't wanna get all complcated and stuff... so i just worked with what was given.

i think your missing the point of a type R, its optimised to go round corners not be fast in a straight line, hence the stiffer chassis, and lsd etc...

i guess it all depends on the purpose. if you just want a quick drag car, then get the vtir and with the difference turbocharge it. but if you want a track car or just superior handling then get the dc2r. both have alot of potential, but its the difference in price that hinders the choice.

you could spend the different on a vtir doing suspension mods, and it will handle as well or better than an R, but it won't be as fast in a straight line, and vica-verca
