Not really sure that it is that noob - so I will move it to wheels/suspension.

Speak with a number of different tyre shops and get a range of opinions.

In reference to load ratings see my 'new to modding' thread at the top of the noob section .

its pretty much the same as what you got, i got 205/17/40 on my front and 215/17/40 on the back...the only diff is that the 215 is 10 mm wider than the 205
i am pretty sure its perfectly legal, i never had troubles with my dc2

when i got my car in january, it came with new tyres...215 on the front and 205 on the back, i found that when i had any more than 2 people in the car that the front tyres rubbed on the inside of the arch at full lock (my car is lowered) so to fix this problem i switched the rear wheels with the front and now have 205 front and 215 rear...no rubs

So 205's are fine on a DC2 without any scraping or hard accelerating and corners?

I heard 195 was the biggest without running into problems.

my 205's run perfect...no rubs nothing
any bigger and you will have problems

yeah sure, but I have 215 and I get rubbing on the back. So, obviously offset effects this too.

no, it's not width that is the issue, it is rim height, like 17 inches.
