hey fellas,
just bought this thing off ebay and dunno if its genuine or not. i may have got carried away with the idea...
anyway its a chip/ resistor that is attached to your 'Inlet Air Temperature (IAT)' sensor and its meant to give the civic's an extra 8bhp. it puts in more fuel and air into the engine improving acceleration and performance etc.
anyone know where the IAT sensor is on the engine?...or the engine coolant temperature?.
is it the little black part on top of the ECU?.... i never had a service manual for my VTi-R.
any help would do!.... thanks!
the IAT is located either on the intake manifold or the intake tube. This resister is a waste of time man, sorry. Basically all it does is tell the ECU that the intake temprature is always cold, thus putting in more fuel. Although when you have your foot down(WOT) the ecu runs in open loop mode where it reads off a map. and applies this map relitavly to your engine RPM.

yeah sorry to burst your buble but this thing is likely to lose you power by causing your car to run too rich.
theres never cheap power when it comes to NA

the chip doesn't add any air...
what it does is tricks the engine into thinking that the air going in is really cold. Cold air = denser = needs more fuel.
In turn, the engine adds fuel. It's a great concept, if the air actually was really cold. Sense it isn't, all you're doing is dumping unneccesary fuel into the engine, hurting performance, decreasing mileage, etc

thanks fellas... dammit!... and i was so excited about putting it in.
guess i won't do it, don't wanna hurt my civic.
cheers

how much did u pay for that?
Basically all it does is tell the ECU that the intake temprature is always cold, thus putting in more fuel
Lower fuel efficiency?
