yes it is quite simple in theory. Not that much needs to be changed but its not as simple as just droping one out and dropping the other in and everything matches up, but it is simplier than most other b series conversions

By my understanding, straight swap,if you find an OBD1 B18C & keep your tranny too.B18's are a little taller(seen figures quoted between 7-19mm) so research ground and hood clearance.I think B18CR's are a little shorter & i personally would save a little more for an R engine tranny combo and sell yours off. There are buyers out there, believe me,been competing for B series engines for a couple of months now,as all the good ones are gettin bought with $US they are gettin rarer & more $$$'s by the day.Much better gains over the B16 especially with the R tranny.Plus a delicious hand built :honda: motor, what more could you want?

It was like you said earlier "is it justifiable",unless the B16 is stuffed. You could spend at least 2-3k aftermarket just to bring it upto R performance, but its still not gonna be all that hand polished goodness or tight ratios & LSD and reliability of a stock motor.
You made a valid point though,i didnt want to quote any prices i thought they could research that themselves, cause there are so many variables & like i said prices are going up almost daily.Just something to add to the planning process. :)

ok.

if his got a b16a and its almost rooted and his got a few k.

best is to do lsvtec or crvtec conversion

the engine will be fully rebuilt and almost everything will be new or reconditioned. It'll be making twice the power of the R.

the R is really not justifable for the amount ur paying.

even with the box. the b16a with 4.75 FD and aftermarket LSD will be just as good or even better.

Excellent option Zelda for the budget & the brand new/reco bottom end is cool, but i dont remember budget being mentioned.you seem to forget the price of labour, research and the time spent just chasing individual parts,i know most of the time ive spent lately couldve yielded a bigger saving if i put the extra hours into working.
But you are right, except for "twice the power",hey lets not confuse everyone here, its comments like those in threads that probably doubled the amount of research i did.
"search is your friend",not always when this is the search result.
I dont mean to antagonise just help.....
