Honda Civic Rally Car

Hi all,

Just recently stumbled across your site and its awesome. Lots of great advice and help. I have a Honda Civic SiR rally car and this year I am competing in the ACT and NSW state rally championships and currently leading my class in the ACT. Its the first time I have owned/run a Honda-I love the car but am finding the sourcing of bits very frustrating. :)

Hello Kate,
Were you in Perth last year with that car competing with the WRC ?

There were 2 EK4 Rally cars, 1 from over east and another from Asia, driven by two Japanese dudes.

BTW, what info are you after ?

I wasn't but the car was. It was red then and I believe leased to a guy running the asia pacific series. I only bought it at the end of 05.

Basically looking for a new gear box to fit a B16a2 without any sucess and just generally trying to find out some answers about the car as the box that is in it has no markings and isn't what I though it was (which makes sourcing bits to fix it kinda hard). If you have any answers to the following it would be much appreciated :)

1. Will a B18 bolt up tp a B16a2?
2. How many splines on the drive shaft does a standard B16a2 box have? Ours has 27 and we have been told that a standard box has 23 - Is this right?
3. It seems that our gear box has mugen lsd and 4.54 final drive is this standard or is this an after market?

Is this an import from Japan? As EK4's were only built until 98 over here.

Are there any events that you are planning on attending in Victoria? Would love to come down at watch. I often check out the wrc stuff so would be nice to see some local rallying.

I haven't got any plans to do any events in Victoria this year (unless I win lotto :) ). But if that changes I will let you know... :D

Yep Jap import then built by Race Torqe in WA. With the exception of my gearbox issues its a great fast little car :)

Specs and pics when I get time. Handles awesomely on corners in the dirt. Talk to guys that only have rallyed rear wheel drives on the dirt and they will say that front wheel drives are crap - they don't know what they are talking about - give me front wheel drive anyday (plus I am beating the rear wheel drive cars :) ).. Sticks like glue going in and powers out with excellent traction. Love it ;)
