i have p28 but was wondering what was involved in tuning the ecu ?? or moddign it ??
because i was thinking of going vafc route but there are so many other things i can do ..
i searched and found some people have modded their ecu .. wat did they do ???
and soem have put hondata or UBER .. something like that so wat is it that happens ?

you first have to remove the exsisting PROM, and put a socket in their, convert the ECU to manual of its set to automatic and you car is manual.
if you ecu is romless you have to add a 74HC373 IC and some capacitors
then run Crome, Uber or what ever you wish

crome and uber is a programming program ?

yes they are programming software allowing your to alter the fuel and timming maps.

pgmfi.org good site for tuning info. Ive played around with Uberdata and Crome.. but havent actaully tried to tune a car with it yet.
i hear those freeware programs are a bit buggy, so good luck.

I've tuned many a cars with uber... never a problem
it has a reputation of being buggy from when it first started being used, these days, it's really quite reliable

still its better to be safe then sorry.. like screw up your car because u were just using a free software. well boys just becareful of what you guys adjust with it or it could lead to some repairing =P
