On anything at all - what would you buy?

I've already got a 2.5" exhaust and headers and the car has been lowered and is used predominantly as a daily driver.

I've already got a pretty good idea of what I want to do (and I have reviewed the bang for your bucks thread) but I just wanted to see if there are any alternative routes that other people would go down that maybe I hadn't considered, but are equally as valid.

So - whats on everyone's wishlist?

(Taking into account labour costs of course! ;) )

id say some coils would do you good, if you like your car to stick on the road :)
and couple that with some sway/strut bars hehehehe

rims if you havnt got any decent ones...
a nice sound system if you like your music?
a nice CAI << good to have your car breathing better ... thats all i can think off atm hehehe good luck and keep us with updates.

Ps: picsobarn

CAI, coilovers and hondata ecu.

a nice sound system is always good but dont go adding big heavy subs and amps.

the car is already lowered by what your saying, if you lwoered it on random springs, take my advice and either get shocks to match, or sell the springs and get coilovers.... i lowered mine on Kings and it looks made, but the springs are shit

im now looking at coiloever.... other than that i'd get some form of engine management and open the intake (CAI SRI) whatever... get it tuned... that will probably leave you enough cash to go for a long drive

CAI, cams, and lighter rims with better tyres.

i wouldn't worry about the sound system, all of the newer hondas coming out now have pretty awesome sound systems.

Hey guys

Thanks for all the responses so far :thumbsup:

I think a CAI and ECU + Dyno are defintiely on the cards, but I'm not too sure what to do with the rest of the cash.

I was thinking either:

- Heavy Duty Clutch/Flywheel
- Lightweight Rims (Buddy club P1s) or
- Coilovers

Anything else to consider? Keep the replies coming! :)

If its a JDM model I would do:
Hondata K-pro
Mugen airbox
Hondata intake manifold gasket
DTR headers or similar
With the remaining $400 or so Spoon reservoir covers and oil cap then take the missus out for dinner and a movie,you won't regret it ;)

If its an AUDM model I would do:
JDM brake upgrade
Some nice 16 inch wheels (secondhand for $1000)
JDM intake manifold
Hondata K-pro
Hondata intake manifold gasket
A full exhaust incl. test pipe

:thumbsup:
Thats just what I would do

I'm probably now leaning more towards the coilovers then the
Clutch/Flywheel or rims. I suppose I can always upgrade those when they need replacing - plus I just recently purchased new rubber for my stockies.

Thanks for the support dudes. It's actually tougher to be in this position then I first thought - i.e. have unlimited wants and be on such a relatively small budget.

But I guess I should just be happy that I'm FINALLY GETTING MY MODS! :cool: hehehe

Baffled Sump, oil cooler, another set of rims + semi slicks. Use left over money to enter track days.

Here is what I would do:

Coilovers: approx $2500
Sway bars: approx $500
Strut braces: approx $500
Hondata ECU: I dunno, but I would guess $1500?

And there is your $5000 gone :thumbsup: I would also stretch the budget a bit more and get a good CAI

JDM brakes need 17" wheels with mega offset, 48?.

Go coilovers and k-pro

If its an AUDM model I would do:
JDM brake upgrade
Some nice 16 inch wheels (secondhand for $1000)

From a DC5R owner's perspective I'd go:

rear sway $225
coilovers $1800
CAI $400+
K100 ECU (hondata) ~$1500 incl tuning I think
then probably good tyres ~$1k

or if u want some looks - 17" rims....

I bought my DC5R Stock. Under Steers bad, Breaks traction like a MF! The power of the car stock is more then enough. Plus you got Exhaust mods which boost your top end. What you really need is to put the power down properly.
Changing your intake on a DC5 will send your economy down the drain even further and offer you mild performance gain with-out a ECU upgrade.
I recommend these mods;
1 - Coilovers- Adjustable Shock and Spring ($2500)
2 - Strut Bars and Tie Bars ($1000)
3 - Better Pads and/or Slotted Rotors (Front $250-1000)
4 - Most important High Performance Street Tyres ($1000+) Eg, Potenza, Advan's!

Do all this and the car feels different all together. Doesnt drive no-way near the day I bought it.

With more balance you'll get more control. With this setup you can easily step on accelerator while corning and zip away on the streets easily at higher speeds. Tune the Coils for track day and the car will be an Animal. Ask the people who went to Winton in March. My Stock performance DC5R chopped 99% of the cars out there. Purely on Suspension mods and tyres!

Thanks for all the response guys - it's always interesting to see the viewpoints of other enthusiasts, and I have to say that quite a few of you had quite a bit of influence on the choices I'm making with my money - so with no further ado - here's what I've decided on:

* Buddy Club N+ Coilovers
* Hondata K100 + Dyno Tune
* Injen CAI
* Whiteline Rear Sway

:D

I can't wait!

lol.... except for the tyres... but I guess they can change when ur current ones run out... :)

I have a whiteline rear sway (adjustable) and it's great.... it's made the car handling soooo much better (improved my track lap time @ Mallala by about 1.4 seconds).

coilovers, 17s, semi's.... damn there most of it there :p

after owning my last car, i am in love with the quietness of the stock zorst.... so if i did anything... it would just headers, or maybe just a hondata
