Hey all, i have a 1996 Honda Civic CXi Hatch and just need some help finding out whats gone wrong with my tacho.

I purchased a 2 5/8 Splitfire tacho from autobahn around feb some time and installed it myself with some help from a mechanic. I have only now started realising that when i rev it past 4500 it sort of skips and jumps up not giving me an accurate reading.
There's more to it tho, when im at idol and i put my foot down, theres no trouble it doesnt skip and works fine.
The cable is connected to the blue cable in the engine bay (i assume its the distributer, from what ive been told.) And ive disconnected it and reconnected it so check if its that.
Im 99% sure its grounded properly but ill double check just to be safe.

Any ideas would be great

Thanks

Mine did this turned out it wasn't properly grounded (i had a friend that works with audio check it) works fine now, check the grounding and the connection to the rev sensor in the engine bay.

SplitFire is a decent brand. Seen a few DIY's and reviews in mags and stuff.
