Honda FEO

I wouldn't bother with anything else, waste of money. IMO

Mobile 1 Fully synthetic 5W50 (i'm pretty sure thats it).

My choice too. I tried the FEO and it wasn't as good as Mobil 1. It didn't last as long.

I get around 6000ks before I notice a drop in power/throttle response.

But mobile 1 doesn't come cheap!

About the same for me with the Mobil 1 but I run it out to 8000kms.

I dropped FEO twice in a row and the second run lasted 4000.

Honda FEO is good stuff, i use it for our Civic. Otherwise look at the Mobil 1 range, a bit more expensive but it does the job. :)

OK thanks guys - hmm - reason I asked is that some people have said not to use synthetic with these engines... :?

Robert@Hannys doesn't use anything other than Mobil 1 on all the Hondas that get serviced there.

I've heard the same about Synthetic oils but haven't seen test results to back it up. I'm always sceptical about those comments because there are never solid test results to backup what's said.

I thought you were supposed to use nothing but fully sythetic oil on most honda engines for the last 20 years or so ?

Eg: 5W 50

The first number is a measure of the viscosity of the oil at cold temprature. The second number is the viscosity at higher (operating) temprature.

The lower the number, the thinner the oil.

would 0w40 mobil 1 be too thin u's reckon??

0-40 is a bit too thin for me. I use castrol magnetec(10-40) but change my oil every 2500km...depends on how hard i push the car. he!he! Mobil Syn last longer but also more expensive.

Those are both rated at 40, so once the car is warmed up they will have similar lubricating properties. As long as you don't drive the car hard when its cold, they will both perform 'similarly'

yes i double true that... mobile 1 5-50 isnt good for b16's..... u need a 10-30 oil....

robert from hanny told me not to use it too...

u can arrange from the mobile 1 warehouse .. think its in yagoonna or somthing for mobile 1 fully synthetic to be made in 10-30 grade.. but u need to buy a gallon...

dont use off the shelf mobile 1..... u rather be running FEO stuff......
I use helix ultra... dont recon its the best but does the job....

So why did he tell me to use it in my SiR's B16A and uses it every time I service it at his workshop?
