barely any NSX's around in syd, let alone modded ones.

Guy in my area has a red one!
1992 model, so nice!

They say it only has 206Kw, now is that because of the regualtions in Japan with the 206Kw rule?

Would they have more?

in the current "SPEED" mag, they have a an guide to nsx's. under there pricing guide, a first gen (90-97) will set u back roughly from $60k-$90k

do u rekon u get good bang for your buck tho? They are really nice cars dont get me wrong, but for the money you pay for a stock NSX they aren't the supercars there made out to be.
I heard once that honda were testing an NSX with twin turbo for manufacture and release and it was devistatingly powerful. They didnt go ahead wit it cos it was too dangerous....hmpf.....id pay big bucks for a twin turbo 3.2 litre V6 Vtec!!! whooooohooooo what a ride that would be!!!!!

Some people call the NSX a poor mans supercar.

Some call it a rich mans civic.

But at the end of the day......all honda's are more expensive in Australia.

At least they build them good so I don't mind paying the extra $$$.

from wat ive heard, the first gen models were a bit lacking in the super cars area, esp for the price brand new.
but the newer NSX's r spose to quite nice and well packaged. but for the price, i can see y only a true honda enthusiast would purchase one. the type r models r somewhere around $200k+

i cant argue with how there made cos they are a work of art. I guess it comes down to: Not everything about owning a car is how fast it can go down a track.

The NSX during thier time was a very good car (back in 1991 was it?)
during that time, the nsx could handle just as well as the ferarri's and porsches because of its lightweight body, and all of this with just a 3.0 V6 NA

rrp on an nsx is $245,000 for the 3.2 litre.
Prices go up from there for the targa models.

You cant get a type-r in Australia unless you can somehow find a way to privately import it.

One of my friends in Japan had a type-r, he sold it before he came to study here in Australia. He told me that the only limit the car had was the driver.

I would prefer an NSX over a ferrari any day of the week.
Talk to a ferrari owner who has tried to use it as a daily driver. They are forever going into the shop for repairs.
There is nothing like honda reliability and build quality.

The NSX during thier time was a very good car (back in 1991 was it?)

The NSX still handles very well even by today's technological standards. Until you've driven one, then you'd realize what Honda's technology and what it's put in place for this very highly priced machine. @ $200,000++, it's hardly a poor man's supercar. Neither is it an overpriced Honda machine. One just needs to appreciate to understand, unfortunately appreciation itself is a killer for it's sales.

i just check the spoon master catalog, no nsx parts...

although you guys may say its spoon tuned..but think abt it, will spoon go into NSX market when that market is comparatively small.

and if spoon do tune the NSX or have parts for them , i believe they would have in reflected in their master catalog....in fact the master catalog from the civic + integra era to the recent s2000 era , has still not reflect the NSX anywhere.

maybe what you see is a painted yellow valve-cam cover. but if spoon really do make parts for the nsx, i sure they do take part in the jap races..won't it??

Fact is, if it's not in the master catalogue and there is no resemblence or should I say any trace of any evidence support product sales for the NA1 on the official Spoon site. It's more or less, non-existent. But some may argue it's a one-off made. Oh well, who cares ... If there is really a so called Spoon tuned NSX or not.

Hi guys.. I just picked up my NSX and love it big time.. the M3 is getting neglected..
every thing they say bout the car is true plus more!
Unfortunately mine is a 93' without Power steering and 3.0 saving up for a 99' in the next few years but in saying that the American NSX owners say that the earlier models are better to mod and tracking cos of the lack of power steering making the steering more precise.

chicken8

not on the sevs list

and then cars newer than 30yrs have to do a RHD conversion

the import rules are for cars coming into aus

doesnt matter where its from really. since the restrictions are placed on cars coming in. not so much the country its leaving from

not possible for acura NSX, i already tried. try importing as a luxury good not a car.

but you still have the issue of compliance and registration

how do you compliance and register a luxury good?

Fact is, if it's not in the master catalogue and there is no resemblence or should I say any trace of any evidence support product sales for the NA1 on the official Spoon site. It's more or less, non-existent. But some may argue it's a one-off made. Oh well, who cares ... If there is really a so called Spoon tuned NSX or not.

i realli dont know where to post so i thought to reduce the clutter i would put it in here.

These images were taken from Autosalon this year.

The question i ask is this a real NSX or some sort of kit car.. the reason why im asking this is cause i thought the engine is in the boot. *confused*

lol, if it's done properly, the peice of crap intake on the hood would channel down the sides into the brake bay (just like the GT-One) but by looking at it it's probably not. If you ask me he wasted all that space with the amps. He could have put a comptech superchager there and the amps in the front. Or even better no stupid hood and no need for so many amps and capacitors!

I guess you ppl doesn't know about NSX, you will never can put any thing at the front because thats where the ABS system / Battery / Radiator / spare tyres, but with the Type-R hood you need to take out the spare tyres out, and the function is for downforce not for cooling anything, engine is in the middle under the glass, and yes the boot is right at the back and thats where the CD changer stay

having an arugment on another forum about the NSX (in particular Nico's one) about why you would buy an NSX.

My argument - "Its one of the best engineered cars ever. For $100,000 you wont find many 10 year old cars that would match its performance."

These are their aguments.

"well you wouldnt pay top dollar for a CRT television, that was kick arse in its day."

"For $100K I could probably buy a car that was only a couple of years old and exceed it's performance."

"It's a 12 year old import Honda. Price is excessive."
