well it is time folks....im about to do a bit too the old girl...(99 v6 accord)im doing the usual 17 inch wheels,lower,zorst-cat back,stereo.....

i was gunna put on a lip kit but ive given up looking for one, also was gunna do the angel eye headlight thing but im going away from that,
my questions are as follows..

without coilovers wot is a good lowered suspension option, shocks and springs, bearing in mind it is a family hack

wot zorst set up is better...i was thinking a custom system with no milo tins

and was also thinking of a cai, where do i get one of these from..

i say get at least 18's for the acc. 17's look puny on accords

shocks and springs, cant go past eibach springs with koni yellow shocks. try not to get ghey king springs or k-mac or something crap. its all about ride quality and the quality of the actual part

exhaust, id say 2.25" bent mandrel if ur looking at a custom although there are others that are just straight bolt ons that u can buy

CAI, u can look for one on EBAY and im sure some of the traders here are selling CAI's too.
i myself have an INJEN CAI on my euro. just type in ur accord year model and number in ebay and there should be a few hits. K&N makes a CAI for ur model accord from memory...

hey hey

17"s is a good size! Well in terms of suspension, i'm in the process of acquiring mine from a trader here [egSi], Getting koni yellows (apparently quite hard to get for our model...cant confrim though) + custom king springs (2" drop F and 1.7" drop R). Contrary to what many ppl say, as stated by another trader who has run a simliar setup, King springs on the street are FINE. They may run a little harsh with the damper setting on anything greater than half - so put it softer. If you're not happy, then sell them and get another set of springs. no biggy. Package should set you back around $1300 ish. Add in install cost and maybe a rear camber kit from the states bringing to around $1600 my guess. I hope...

In terms of exhaust, you might wanna ask vtec_jet. he got some piping done.

CAI - DIY. i juts did that. Went to autobarn, bought a $25 CAI tube, took out the resonator (was a bitch) and with the help of cable ties, I now had a pretty good DIY intake. very happy.

Anyway hope my info helped. I've noticed more and more Accord 6th gen owners modding which can only be a good thing i guess :)

17's all the way! don't listen to stephen they only look small to him coz he has 20"! lol

custom exhaust is good value for money

koni yellows + king springs is also good value for money (street suspension) by the sounds of it you wont be going to the track anyway.

k&n are generally the brand to go for for intakes- defintiely the most popular and proven systems though theres a lot of other great ones if your willing to search

well your on the right track so far and uve got a pretty good idea of what you want to do.......

first of all suspension, king springs are fine for everyday use, and a set of Koni Yellow shocks shuld do well, im on the hunt for a set at the moment... and with lowering these beasts..... i think 17'z are your best option if you want a comfortable ride ... in termz of a CAI, i would probably not recommend a K&N becuase of the legal issues, because of the fact that they are OILED.... if you go for a pod filter, a Simoto would be good, if you want a flat panel i suggest an Injen... which you could find on ebay OR autobarn ...

with exhausts..... im glad ur steering away from milo tin canz... !! LoL if you want quality at a decent price i would suggest you go for a remus 2" muffler + piping, with high flow cat ( cost me around $300 all up installed) , there is an option for a bigger size (2.25") if you dunt mind it being louder :) ...

and stereo wise... jus let me noe wat kinda system your after and i'll recomend a few thingz...

there are a few 6th Gen accord owners lurking on this forum .. stop hiding !! lol

lol yes thats very true. but IMO 17's seem like 15's on a civic. just adequate.
for looks i reckon 18's is the way AT LEAST. but 17's would be the more sensible option. chris would know im a bit on the crazy side of things. chris is the more conservative crazy modder (if that made any sense at all. LOL :D )

I'd go 17" if your after nice wheels without too much bling and weight, 18+ if your after bling bling.

As far as springs, I hate Kings, they sag after short periods and are too rough. I'd get coilovers since your looking at spring and shocks. The cost difference isn't that much when you get decent springs and shocks at once anyway.

Wouldn't 2.25" be too small. 1.8Ltr SOHC lancers run 2.25" as an ideal setup with some good headers. I'd go 2.5" mendrel bent minimum.

there is one on every forum isnt there, sorry champ i havent,if i searched then this thread wouldnt be here and that would mean one less post for you,so you should be thanking me.....

back on topic, thanks for all the replies folks,as i have said, this is an everyday driver so mods need to be mild,i was thinking kings with a set of monroe gt gas,it doesnt need to handle unbeleivably just ride nice and look lower,im thinking ill just go a flat panel filter im not keen on pods and ill prolly try and get more air in the box via a home job,vtec_jet is youre zorst setup on a 6 or 4 cyl?and yes i would love a few stezza tips, the misses wants another stacker and new head unit wot could you suggest? i have been a member here for about a year and i was of the impression when i first joined that i was the only 6th gen owner here so it is good too see a few more of us about.
