Hi guys, i recently bought a 1998 Honda Civic CXI. Everything on it has been fine up to last night. Had a lot of rain and around 5am the alarm went off by itself. Didnt give it much thought and re-locked / alarmed the car. But it went off again around 45 mins later.

I dont know what the problem could be, maybe some rain got in on one of the sensors, or i might have a faulty sensor.

Has anyone had this kind of problem before, related to the rain? And can anyone reccomend me a Honda place i could take the car to have a look at the alarm and check what is wrong. I'm in Melbourne in the eastern suburbs.

Thanks.

water mat have gotten into your siren its a common problem but alarm company wont tell you cause its not coverd under warranty.
best thing for anyone that reads this is go straight out to your car remove the little caps that covers the key hole in the siren and fill the barrel and the cap with vasoline to keep water out

if it gets to bad you can also turn it off with the little key in the siren same as you do wen you leave it at a workshop

Might be a low battery warning, bad siren, bad sensor, bad connection, or water like they said!

Looking at the siren box under the hood, it doesnt appear to have any caps or screws to gain access to the inside of it. All there is, is a keyhole for the alarm deactivation key, and a little rubbery type plug thingy. How do you mean to access the key barrell & cap, could you explain it in a little more detail please?

Also if i turn off the siren with the little key, does that turn the whole alarm off, or does it just disable the siren leaving the alarm light to flash still.

should only just disable your siren.
