A/C GAS

88 ef-7 CRX Si - ZC motor

What type of gas is in my car?

The old type or new type? what are the gases called?

I hear you can pump the new gas in the old systems? is this true?

any benefits?

there is r12 and r134a

pre 92 is r12

u can do a dodgy and get r134a fittings put onto your standard ones and just drain the gas and fill with r134a or ..

do a full flush of the system and change the pipes to so that u have r134a fittings standard and regas with r134a.

you can retrofit the car to have r134a, dont need to change the pipes, the fit on new valves will be fine. the important thing is to change the oil in the compressor to suit the new gas.

you can also get R12 replacement HC12a

honda sell retro kits for older cars, just recently sold one for a 89 prelude to take the new r134a gas.
