Hi All,

Have a nutty project on the go and hope some of you 'in the know' Honda guys can help.

I'm re powering a 1964 Citroen ID19 rally car with (hopefully) a H22A and am keen on the idea of forced induction/dedicated LPG. The origional Citroen engine also spins anti clockwise which was orgionally why I was attracted to the H22A and will also mean I can retain the Citroen tranaxle and brakes.

I'm really looking for torque in the bottom and mid range and would be prepared to sacrafice top end power to acheive torque in this range which is why I'm leaning towards a positive displacment supercharger (M62).

Questions are:

Is the F20B engine physically smaller (narrower in the block) than the H22A?

Does anyone have experience with forced induction LPG on either of these engines?

Thanks,

Bing.

I have never heard of anyone running a H22 or F20 here in aust on LPG little lone forced + LPG

what you want to do is inject the LPG into your intake manifold rather than convert it to vapour via converter. maximum octane :)

Hi Booka,

Yep, sounds like a nice plan - you know of an injection system and engine managment comp that will do that?

^^^ what he said. i believe LPG is 120oct RON, however if you didn't inject it, when you lose pressure you'll run lean.

as for engine, dunno the answer. but due to your comment on the H22A fitting the citroen, im guessing you planned on using the F20 head?

no he want to use a F20 DOHC VTIR

you can remap a P28 Honda ECU to run the engine, with your custom fuel and timming maps :)

most other aftermarket ecu's will work as long as you alter the fuel and timming and engage an out put at a certain RPM ( VTEC solenoid )

F20B and the H22A the physical size/dimension are pretty much identical. The major difference is the F20B uses a 85mm bore instead of a 87mm compared the H22A.
