DUB series of subs are made by Audiobahn, and from what i've read they look prettier than the sound ;). Boss is on the lower end of the price/performance scale, which is probaby why he's selling it all for $150.

To get the full potential from a sub, a well designed box is needed. Chances are the boss audio box is a pre-fabricated one so it's just designed to hold 12" subs in general and not tune specifically to any particular sub. So it might not sound all that good, but then i've never heard Audiobahn gear...

Audiobahn is kind generic. I haven't really tuned my boxes; I just build close to spec. But I also run spl so I don't care what it sounds like 90% of the time.

he said they were 180 each brand new. Even if they dont sound uber, its still a good deal isnt it?

Personally for $150, i'd get a Pioneer 306C (great value for money) and try and DIY a box for it.

Yes a simple box will work, nothing fancy. I stick with the idea that most 12" subs like a box about 1 cubic foot inside. If there is a manual the read it, it has box parameters in it. I would follow those, but I have a few programs that I load the sub specs into and I let it do all the hard work. PM me and we can talk about a full custom box.

If you want a bang for buck sub setup you cant go pass the Digital Designs1012 or the Pioneer 306c mentioned earlier. Get a box that suits your sub. if you want to buy a prefab try to stick to prefab boxes that are sold wiht the sub. Boxes make a hella of a difference.

agree with freaki3 & tranhg

best BFYB sub for <$200. can b had for $100ish. the 306c retails at low $100's anyway. can b fed more power than theyre rated at, can go both damn low&loud in the right ported box - a sealed box would b fine tho.

otherwise, $200-300 for a decent subby. (alpine, jl, dd come to mind)

I had the Pioneer 306C in a Pioneer box. Pioneer recommends a box of approximately 35L, funny thing is the Pioneer box DESIGNED FOR THE 306C was 28L..... go figure.

From what i've read on various forums the 306C is suited to both sealed and ported boxes, so you've even got a choice of which box. Apparently they're very durable as well, on one account i've heard of them being run with a clipped signal for 2 years before the sub died...

I was feeding my sub around 500wrms (nominal is 400wrms) and it sounded pretty good considering the box i had it in was a little bit too small.

i already bought the 2 DUB200's lol. i still rkn 150 for both with a box is a good deal considering they retail at 185 each. took one out of the box and chucked it in a sealed Qmax box. I was gonna get a ported box but the guy gave me the wrong one and i didnt notice it wasnt ported. Wats the dif between ported and sealed btw? Is it depending on different music?

Sealed - smaller box, so takes up less space. Bass is more punchy. Easy to make since there's no tuning involved, all that's needed are internal dimensions.

Ported - Makes the sub more efficient, doesn't need that much poewr to get loud, plays lower than sealed. More difficult to make since you need to have it properly tuned otherwise the sub will sound crap.
